“Convenient and comfortable”
Reviewed 16 September 2012 via mobile

Stayed here for a couple of nights and found the room and accomodation ideal for a short stay. We were in the new part which is well appointed and had a very comfortable bed. We had a standard room which if you wanted to spend time there might be a bit small but it was perfect for us to travel into Belfast & out to the country. It's ideal for the airport and although very, very close to the runway there was only a little noise at all from the planes. The food and menu was great and for the price, we booked direct with the hotel it was good value for money

Only couple of comments for improvement would be to have soap in the bathroom which was a little irritating, shower gel really doesn't work to wash your hands and the wifi signal wasn't working in our area the staff did try to help but with no success.

We stayed last week at the Ballyrobin Country Lodge for two nights while visiting the north.Brilliant value for money cant fault it on anything! Had an excellent stay there we loved the hotel, the rooms are luxuriious like new with everything you could ask for. Free WIFI and it was easy to connect to. Staff were lovely, so friendly and helpful, very accomodating. We stayed for the dinner b&b and so ate at the hotel too, food was great and the restuarant staff too were lovely and helpful.
We visited Giants Causeway and Bushmills which was only an hour at most from the hotel and then following day Belfast.
Its right by the airport but it has triple glazing and you cant hear a thing. My two little girls loved watching the planes landing.
A fantastic stay, we didnt want to leave. Many thanks so the staff who were all so lovely and friendly and helpful. If only all hotels could be like this!

Very helpful staff, comfortable room well insulated from noise of airport. The quality of the food was excellent and staff very flexible, I asked if I could have the salad nicoise starter as a main course sized portion, no problem and no extra charge, and the tuna was beautifully cooked. Excellent range of choice at breakfast and very reasonably priced. I travel constantly, as a business stopover this hotel was hugely convenient and relaxing, an excellent alternative to the more expensive city centre and chain offerings.

Room Tip: I think you should make sure your room has aircon to avoid having to open the windows as you are clo...

Arrived very late at night. Friendly welcome. Nothing too much trouble. Rooms are "boutique" almost bordering on French style. It is very tastefully done. Towels smelled fresh and everything was spotless. Breakfast very good value. The only negative point is that it is on the main road and this might put some people off (not me!). I would certainly stay here again.

We have eaten here many times and always enjoyed the food and liked the quaintness of the place so when we got a deal on Late rooms for £45 as we had an early flight we booked for dinner and to stay overnight. I knew that they had built new rooms on and I thought the new reception was very nice. We were given our key and told we were in the old rooms. As we were having dinner we just left our cases and didn't come up until later. It wasn't until we had got ready for bed that we realised the room was very warm . If we opened the window (not double glazed) it was impossible to sleep with the road noise and the other back facing window had the extractor fan fumes from the kitchen and the noise and food smell could be smelt inside even with the window closed. The extractor fan noise did stop around midnight but the food smell was still in the room and the road was busy all night.I know that we probably could have asked for another room but we had unpacked all our things and it was late, but on hind sight we probably should have as we had a very bad nights sleep. If you read the brochure carefully it says the new rooms have air con (which we thought we had) and sky but the 3 "Traditional" rooms don't have either. I know we paid very little through late rooms but I will definitely stay in The Airport hotel next time where at least I know We'll get a proper nights sleep,

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new building.

All comments are gratefully received as this gives us an opportunity to benchmark ourselves.
I was disappointed to see that your stay at the Ballyrobin Country Lodge did not meet your expectations.
We have taken great care to ensure the recent extension has been fitted out to the highest standard and provide that extra touch of luxury, unfortunately our Traditional King rooms are part of the original house, dating back over 200 years, this is a listed building in which we are limited in the refurbishments we can provide, which is why we have single glazing windows. Our website does however state that our Traditional King Rooms do not have air con. We would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the noise from the extractor fan; we will most certainly follow this up internally. All of that said we would love for you to visit us again; our ultra-modern rooms also have competitive rates, comparable to those in the area. We hope we can restore your faith in us.

My wife and I stayed overnight at this hotel prior to catching a fight back to Glasgow. The room was excellent, well furnished, comfortable beds, neat clean and tidy. The shower was excellent.
We had a meal in the restaurant which proved excellent value and was well presented. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was excellent parking.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others. It provided excellent value for money.

Always wary of places close to airports. We drove in at around 4pm, tired and needing dinner before our flight home. The restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere. We had a choice of seats. The menu was nice and varied. I chose the healthy option of aubergine with couscous, cherry tomatoes and feta cheese, my husband had a panini with chips. It's was very tasty and very nicely presented. Only gripe was no cherry tomatoes, and the bread wasn't panini bread. This apart, we left having eaten plenty and tasty food at a reasonable price. Yes, would eat there again (the menu was very tempting).
