“Quaint wee tea room”
Reviewed 18 May 2013

Love it ! Lovely wee tea room hidden away outside cullen. Lovely fresh vegetarian food served by people who obviously care.
Lovely young waitresses who deserve their wages. Might be a good idea to book at the weekend as it can get very busy.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed 11 May 2013

Nice meals - plenty of choice for vegetarians. The cakes were vey nice, fresh and moist. Not the cheapest place in the area, but the food was good. Well worth a visit.

“Lovely homemade food and excellent service”
Reviewed 22 April 2013 via mobile

Fabulous homemade to order lunch with the freshest of ingredients. We had asparagus and mushroom crepes, But and Ben platter ( cheese selection with salad and crusty bread), home made soup with crusty bread and a selection of gorgeous home made cakes. We also had a huge pot of tea and a soft drink, all for under £30.
Can't wait to go back!

“Unreliable Opening Times”
Reviewed 22 February 2013

We have heard so many good things about this 'tearoom with antiques' and have wanted to visit for some time. Yesterday, it was to be the highlight of our day, after a drive along the coast and a brief stop to purchase some excellent walnut oil at the Harbour Shop in Portsoy. We found the location easily enough as there is a large sign visible from the road, however after a drive up a bumpy track we arrived to find the whole place firmly and completely shut. Only a vaguely worded wee note pinned to the tearoom door confirmed that they were indeed meant to be open. As we left another person arrived, no doubt they were disappointed also.

It is a long way to drive from Forres only to have appetites thwarted by erratic opening times. A 'CLOSED' sign on the main board at the roadside would have saved prospective customers from a disappointing detour.

Thankfully, as dusk fell, a beautiful sunset lifted our spirits. Will we try again? I don't know.

“A cake and antique lovers paradise”
Reviewed 24 January 2013

Literally just five minutes drive from the beautiful coastal town of Cullen is the lovely Deskford Garden Galleries and Willows Tea Room.

If you pop along from Cullen on the B9018 toward Keith you’ll come across this hidden gem.

The place is a converted old farmhouse which the owner has thankfully decorated and finished to reflect a bygone era that fits in perfectly with what’s on offer – tea, cakes and antiques.

The menu provides an extensive array of good value, quality home-bakes and teas from all corners of the world. We’ve been here quite a few times and the food is always lovely, served with a smile and a fresh tablecloth every time.

There’s also plenty of antiques to be had which are spread over the old stables, greenhouse and outbuildings.

And if it’s a nice dry day I highly recommend you go for a wee stroll around the gardens where you’ll stumble upon a little pond and boat house.

Delightful.
