Staying over the canal at a cottage, Good location for boaters, and on a nice day watching the boats go by. Staff friendly and helpful. Pub could do with a make over. Our meal two adults and one 11 year old. Three starters, two prawn cocktail, quite nice, chicken wings, were ok. One liver and bacon with new potatoes, potatoes hard liver bearable. Two scampi, bland. Bread was vile. One shandy, 2 large wine, 2 j2o, Approx £65.00. Such a shame, but you can understand the owners, if your on a boat, moor up and want to eat at this location, there is no other pub within a reasonable distance. We did not use this pub again to eat.

Conveniently located at the end of the Pontcysyllte aqueduct with spectacular views down the canal, this pub has the potential to be a great place to visit. Sadly, when we arrived we found a slightly run down pub serving traditional bar meals which were nothing special, but generally good value for money. The ham salad was nice at £6.95 and the meat pie was genuinely home made and quite filling.
There's nowhere else to eat in Trevor at night within walking distance of the canal basin, so on the whole it's OK, but if you're expecting gourmet food - don't bother.

Lovelly location, pleasant staff but let down by food/ chef
We ordered 2 ham and tomato sandwiches , the ham was fine but on 2 of the thinnest pieces of bread I have ever seen and about 10 pieces of cress and 1 slice of cucumber .
For the price they should have provided decent bread and some salad, a total rip off!!!!

We visit The Telford whenever in North wales, The atmosphere is great everyone includes you in their conversation so you are always made to feel welcome. The owners Rob and Sarah are always on hand for a chat and friendly banter and they never seem to forget a face, which is very rare in most pubs. The food is exceptional all cooked to order and the portion sizes never disappoint, my husband and i are great fans of the Steak pie, which has to be tried, the setting is beautiful and relaxing in the summer just to sit in the garden and watch the canal boats go by.This is definitly a place to visit

Good location, friendly staff - it would certainly be a great place to have a drink, especially on a nice day when you could sit outside and look at the boats on the canal.

But the food - oh dear! My husband had Thai green curry (one of his favourite dishes - he said this time it was awful). I had 'homemade four bean chilli', which was clearly 'cooked' by someone who had simply opened a tin of mixed beans and stirred in a bit of chilli. It bore no relation to any other chilli I have ever had - or made myself - in fact it was disgusting. The fish and chips was OK, but altogether a very disappointing dining experience
