Stayed here on Sunday 20th July en route to Fishguard. We stay in Caersws every year but our usual farmhouse accommodation was full so we booked a room at the Buck. The room was very spacious, in fact a family room and very well appointed, nice decor and large TV. The accommodation is not directly over the main public rooms and the pub itself is situated on a quiet street in the village so it was very peaceful. However, it was Sunday night with not many patrons in the bar and no food being served so it may be noisier on other nights of the week. Not sure if they do do evening meals on other nights but there are other places to eat in the village and surrounding area and Caersws is only a few miles from Newtown in one direction and Llanidloes in the other with plenty of restaurants in both towns. We had an excellent breakfast the next morning so were well pleased with our stay and would certainly recommend the venue. Caersws itself is a lovely rural area but well placed just off the main road so ideal for exploring the surrounding area, Llanidloes is particularly charming with the Severn tumbling through and some lovely shops and cafes as well as the Minerva Centre which hosts textile exhibitions throughout the year.Llandrindod Wells and Welshpool also not far away

We stayed here for a friends wedding. Room was lovely and comfy and area beautiful. Breakfast was fantastic and bar downstairs very useful. They don't do evening meals so we ate 100 yards away at the Red Lion. Rob is very helpful as were all the staff and we would like to thank them for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Our room was fine.

A group of friends and I spent two nights here in July, attending a wedding in the next town. We booked (and were given!) a family room and a double room. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable.
For me the best thing was the friendliness of the staff, by which I mean one particular staff member who I assume to be the owner. He was welcoming, helpful and flexible in terms of breakfast and checkout times, which we appreciated! He was forgiving of our struggle to pronounce the name of the place we wanted a taxi to.
I almost daren't write this because it seems so petty, but we only wish there had been an iron, and a little more water pressure in the shower. A fantastic place though and I would happily visit again.

Had another family Sunday lunch for 6 of us. Great choice, great food, thoroughly enjoyed it. We didn't have any room for the desserts unfortunately, but they looked lovely and were very tempting. Looking forward to our next visit already!

Room Tip: For dining purposes only - Make sure you do book ahead, and get there a little earlier because there...

We stayed here during a recent trip to the Welsh Oak Frame Company and absolutely loved the hotel, bar, restaurant and staff. The food was superb - all beautifully fresh and cooked to absolute perfection. The whole place has a warm and friendly feel, the owners are superb hosts, the staff are welcoming and they all take great care and pride in making sure you enjoy your experience there. The rooms are warm and cosy - a real home from home with everything you need - and the breakfast sets you up for the day. This is a real find and we will definately return. Thank you everyone at The Buck for making us so welcome.

Room Tip: Rooms are beautifully warm and well equipped.
