“Weekend stay”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

Just returned from this beautiful hotel after staying for the weekend to attend my niece s wedding reception here. What a delight. Stayed here twice before but this time we really were blown away by the wonderful welcome, beautiful food and high standard of service. Very sad to leave but will surely be back. Well done to all the staff who made our stay so very special!

We came across this hotel on a "near me now" search on Trip Advisor, it fully justifies it's rating on the site. It is a beautiful old building. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Had we not already booked hotels for onward travel we would have stayed for longer. It is set in a very quiet and peaceful location.

We had wanted to visit the Elan valley for some time we booked the 3 day deal, we did not expect the food experience that we had at this hotel. From the moment we walked in we felt at home, we had a friendly welcome at reception and they insisted to help with our luggage we were upgraded as they said that they preferred the room filled. We were over the moon as we stayed in a suite at the top of the house so comfortable.

We were tired after the journey and really hoped that the food would be good, we were not disapointed. The dining room is beautiful and the staff go out of there way to make you feel at home we had a drink in the bar before we went in and the menu was impressive there is definetly a passionate chef at the hotel, they also have an excellent wine list we ordered a bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon blanc it was gourgous, we did not finish bottle so they put it in fridge for the next evening. We went in to eat and they sat us at the window overlooking garden so pretty, white tablecloth and beautiful cutlery felt so relaxed. The deal was for 3 nights B & B including a four course meal for two nights. The whole experience was fantastic. I now need to talk food to any BRIDES out there we met the wedding planner really lovely and I must recommend the chefs lamb dish it was one of the best plates of food I have every had!

Want to go back ! will go back. Every member of staff we spoke to could not do enough for us.
Thank you so much

Stayed just the one night with my young son - the staff were very friendly, always helpful and struck the perfect balance between professionalism and informality. The room was clean and perfect for our needs. Food was lovely and the hotel lounge and dining room were charming and full of character. Would stay again.

We had our wedding reception at Maesmawr on the 24th August this year. The overall experience was amazing from start to end. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional. Massive thank you to Lee who helped with the planning and running of our big day - We could not have asked for a more genuinely lovely, hard working person to help make our day run so smoothly. So many of our family and friends commented on the quality and quantity of the wedding breakfast, definitely by far the best we've ever had. Bedrooms all lovely and a fab cooked breakfast the next morning. Can't say enough how amazing the hotel and all the staff are. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to book a wedding reception! Thank you Maesmawr for making our day so amazing! Kylie & Dion.

My husband and I arrived on Sunday afternoon and from the moment we drove up the tree lined drive we knew our stay was going to be special. The hotel itself was an impressive sight as we approached.
Check in was quick and we were shown to our newly refurbished room. Tastefully decorated, comfortable, spotlessly clean with a large bathroom.
The lounge bar downstairs was inviting with its big comfortable armchairs to sink into. What a shame it wasn't cold then the fire in the inglenook would have been lit. The staff were polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
The food was amazing and of a five star quality in taste, presentation and service. Thank you.
Our whole stay was a truly wonderful experience. Looking forward to a return visit.

We held our daughter's wedding reception at Maesmawr on 4th May this year. What a fabulous place from the moment we viewed Maesmawr and met Lee we knew it was the perfect wedding venue and we were not wrong. Lee was brilliant from day one. The wedding day was fantastic, the venue and staff brilliant, we couldn't have asked for more. The food was outstanding served by friendly efficient staff. The rooms are all lovely, we had booked all the rooms due to guests attending from near and far and everyone had a great stay. Can't recommend Maesmawr highly enough, my niece has booked her wedding for August next year and I know we will have a wonderful day. Thanks to Lee and his team.
