“Sunday Carvery”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

Lovely Lamb Dinner, and my husband had the turkey, and my daughter the children's sausage and mash. Great value for money, and portion size spot on. I wish the new owners well, they are doing great so far. Nice to see the whole family helping out, especially the smallest member, made it feel homely.
Only reason I didn't give full marks, was that a few tables, including ourselves were not attended to enough. But the food was truly lovely, and worth every penny, will be going there again very soon.

“top marks for food , and service !!!”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

home made soup was creamy and delicious , steaks were cooked to the requested rare and well done . my risotto was delicious , tasty , well presented , the deserts were scrummy , great prices , new managment is obviously doing great . dont take this the wrong way but the only negative is smokers in the entrance porch ,and cigarette butts by the main entrance i think this would put potential customers off walking in through the door , which would be a shame as its the BESTpub grub we have had in ages !!!!

“Absolutely Brilliant”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

I heard that new people had taken over the Gaerwen Arms this summer, and had heard good things, so decided to see for myself.
The new owners are really friendly and can't do enough to make you welcome. The views of the mountains from the terrace are magnificent- perfect for enjoying a cool glass of wine. (The wine is good by the way).
I had a 3 Course evening meal. Scallops to start. These were beautiful and succulent, Duck Breast cooked to perfection for the main, then a homemade panacotta to finish. Everything was delicious, fresh and served with a smile. Extremely reasonably priced for the quality. Other people on my table we're equally impressed with their choices!
Definitely recommend!

First time we've visited since the takeover and what an improvement. It's been fully refurbished and the food was amazing! Even the kids' meals were impressive, which makes a nice change. Will deffinatlly be visiting again soon. 10 out of 10!

“Great food & views of Snowdonia!”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

Called in for meal on Monday evening. Staff very friendly & welcoming as were locals in bar. Wonderful view of mountains from conservatory & beer garden. Food excellent & good value. Recently changed hands I believe & new owner doing good job. It's on old A5 but only a short drive from A55 expressway so can thoroughly recommend for food, friendliness & location.
