“Day on the beach!”
Reviewed 2 September 2008

If you are in Ragusa and want to spend a day on the beach and enjoy the beautiful sea of Sicily there are several buses for Marina di Ragusa leaving from Ragusa bus terminal.
Marina di Ragusa is a seatown/beachresort with nearly 2km of beaches. Originally it was just a little fishing village but now during the summer it gets very busy. From the main square of Marina, Piazza Duca degli Abruzzi, if you go east you will take the new (modern) promenade, the Lungomare A. Doria with beaches, beach-volley camps and pus. If you walk west you will get to the old promenade, the Lungomare Mediterraneo that takes you to the new turistic port of Marina with lots of little boats.
The town is mainly new with a small 'old' towncentre where the only historical building/site is the old medieval tower dating to XV.aC - the Torre Cabrera.
The beaches have fine golden sand and the shallow water of this stretch of coast gets warm and is very clear. Great place for a swim and a sunbath!
