this was a unique adventure. the views from the hotel are spectacular. our room had a private Jacuzzi with a view of all of the island. the service was wonderful. I never stayed in a hotel like this. its not for super seniors though as there is quite a walk up to the hotel. the rooms are fancy caves. once in a lifetime positive experience had to drag my wife out of there

A charming, well established hotel is in a beautiful location with elevated views of Santorini.. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. In particular, Sakis who greeted us. Having stayed in many on the island, I would recommend for its style. The Pyrgos Easter Friday celebrations pass immediately in front of the splendid front terrace.

Room Tip: We stayed in Marco. A quiet and very private room with a hot tub on its terrace and a beautiful sweeping, unobstructed view of the island. Spotlessly clean. Larger room than many on island. It was also within easy reach of the main pool & sun deck area and had a private entrance. Very comfortable bed and plenty towels. Ideal for couples.

This place was amazing and more amazing then the place were the people who were running it. The receptionist nearly spent an hour with us almost every day, just talking to us and filling us in with the history and details of not just the property but the whole village. Oh and their breakfast OH-MY-GOD was to die for. It was as if your granny was in the kitchen making yummy food for you with love! The weather was nice so I don't know details on the AC and other such necessities. My only complaint was that when we showered the water kind of went everywhere in the bathroom (and a bit in room), which was sort of annoying but being a person with OCD, I can honestly say that the pros definitely way outweighed the cons:)

The village of Pyrgos is wonderful, full of winding alleys and restaurants aplenty and a few shops (very expensive for touristy mass production goods) the hotel is at the top of the village about a ten minute moderately hill walk from where the transport drops you, the hotel sends a man and donkey (who is a little frail and old and made me very uncomfortable to make use of his services) so happy to transport our own luggage although others loaded him to the max our room was one of the cave rooms, it was nice and cool and pleasant although not luxury but spacious, we were shown our shared plunge jacuzzi which was in a shared courtyard, this was also in a cave and was not appealing at all as it was cold water and in a dark cave! We ate in the hotel on the first night, the food was ok but nothing special and were only dining with one other couple in the dining area so lacked any atmosphere. Breakfast is nice but very slow service and like others have commented you're made to feel a bit of a nuisance if you want a refill of coffee or anything. The pool was Freezing so didn't swim but sun loungers were nice and they offer a waitress service to the pool via a phone so handy. Nice trip but wouldn't feel the need to stay here again as I have found much much better places at better value and friendliness.

Room Tip: Rooms by the pool deck looked lovely.
