“Great service in quaint location makes this a lovely hotel”

We had a wedding and many of our guests stayed at the hotel. The staff was very acommodating and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and provide all the necessities as well as a full and satisfying breakfast. It is a beautiful hotel and while small, offers wonderful charm. The courtyard decorated with gorgeous flowers and a tranquil fountain is the perfect place to relax. I would suggest this hotel to anyone who would like to be a guest, not just a hotel customer. The village of Pyrgos is traditional and away from the chaos of tourists flooding the main town- but still a short drive or bus ride to the main towns or the numerous beaches.

Absolutely fantastic stay in this charming and calmly Hotel in Pyrgos!!! The Hotel has 8 rooms, a lovely and beautiful garden and in the upper floor a great terrace with wonderful outlook on Pyrgos, the island, the sunset and the sea. The owners are very charming, helpful and hospitably. The room and the bath were very clean. I had my room in the ground floor in the typical cave house Island style. My mother had a generous room in the upper floor. The rooms are very calm. One does not hear anything of the guests in the rooms next door. TV, Air conditioning system and hair dryer are in all rooms. The breakfast was served in the garden which is from the mother of the owner affectionately maintained each day. It is a so peaceful and authentic atmosphere, so that one would like to remain for ever. The breakfast is rich and very good!! I think Pyrgos is the best and nicest place on the Island if you prefer a native, authentic and calm stay. From the Hotel we discovered the Island and the beaches by Bus and Taxi. To rent a car it was not nessesary. For esample to go by Taxi from Pyrgos to AkrotiriHotel taking there a fisherboat which brings you to three different beaches was an absolutely highlight! The first beach is Red beach, the second White beach and the third Black beach where you find also a small taverna. Also a very nice beach is Vlichada whith its pumice stone formations. It was my favorite. From Pyrgos you take the bus at 10.15 or 12.15. and back to Pyrgos you have the bus at 4.30 or 6.30pm. Wonderful. Enjoy Donna's House and its unique atmosphere!

Very cozy atmosphere for me and my wife. I liked the garden very much and the breakfast was more than continental. The staff helped us with the luggage when we check out. Family business with personal care.

We stayed at Donna's House in the village of Pyrgos for two nights( 4 to 6 May) and highly recommend it for those seeking a quiet, boutiique hotel in a picturesque village. (For those who want bars, clubs and a multitude of nearby cafes and restaurants, plus a beach or swimming pool, or the famous Caldera view, this hotel is not for them.) Instead, one will be treated to a charming village with marvelous views of the highest mountains on Santorini and partial views of the Caldera and the sea on the other side. This is a peaceful place where at night and during the day only the sound of a donkey bell will disturb the guests. The hotel - a refurbished villa -is located in the heart of the village and is not accessible by car. In fact, almost the entire village is a pedestrian zone which is part of its charm. Some of the churches and buildings rival those of Oia in respect to architectural features, color and dignity. The rooms are quite spacious, especially for Europe, and well equipped. The reading lights are worthy of the name! There is a courtyard with a fountain and flowers where guests take their breakfasts. Breakfast is typical of what one gets in Greece; and assortment of breads, yogurt, cheese and ham, cake, juice, water and coffeee or tea. Pyrgos is only a 10- 15 minute drive from Fira for those who crave more tourist attractions. We hired a car for a day and were able to visit the island from one end to the other: The Faros to Cape Ammoudi. In our minds, Fira is a congested, tacky place. Oia is absoutely breathtakingly beautiful but isolated. There are taverns in and around Pyrgos and the local shops and bakery sell beer, water, cheese, bread and other provisions for very reasonable prices. We stayed in one of the upper rooms with a view of the courtyard and mountain side. There is a terrace surrounding the upper floor with tables and chairs outside each room, which we used to relax and enjoy the views. The female manager Xeni is a gem; her English is fine and she is very helpful. One tip: she arranged at our request to have a taxi pick us up at the port. (We arrived form Crete by catamaran.) The fee was 20 Euros which we consider a rip off, since it only took ten minutes and we even had to share the taxi with another couple. When we rented a car for a 24-hour period at 30 Euros, we were able to drop off the car at the airport without an extra charge. Do the math: it might be better to pick up a car at the port or airport to save money. This place is a bargain for Santorini. We paid 70 Euros a night for one of their better rooms.. We would stay there again. Please do not hesitate to ask us about our stay in Santorini. We also spent eight nights in Crete and four in Athens.

Enchanted hotel in the delightful little town of Pirgos. Hotel was very clean and easy to access. Staff were extremely helpful, courteous and very friendly. Breakfast was terrific and the hotel provided a breathtaking view of the island. This is an exquisite hotel for those willing to stay outside the city of Fira. Its relative remoteness made it particularly quiet, a truly idyllic setting for those wanting to get away.
