We spent our wedding afternoon at the Tower Bank Arms and couldnt have asked for more. Anthony the manager made us feel so welcome and really went out of his way to make sure we had a really happy and memorable afternoon. Thank you. Would recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: Didnt sleep here so dont know and i ticked the swimming pool option by mistake and cant delete it!

We cannot thank you enough Anthony for the amazing New Years Eve celebration you gave Rob and I and our six friends in 2013. You had gone into so much detail, prepared everything so well and the atmosphere was great from start to finish. We loved the food, the quizzes, the crazy balloons etc etc. Thankyou for an evening we will never forget. Rob and Gill Sutton Buckinghamshire.

What a lovely pub this is. Old and characterful with a roaring fire and quirky seats and pictures. I can't give it a five though because the bar man (large build, average height and with a beard) didn't seem to be enjoying his job.

The service was unsmiling and perfunctory, so since we like feeling welcome when we eat out, we shall maybe pop in for a pint once in a while but we'll take our £100 a month eating out money somewhere else. That's over ten thousand pounds over a ten year period by the way.

Give it a try though as you might get a different bar man who understands about smiling and making people feel welcome.

We were staying in the Lake District for 4 nights at the start of a month long visit to the UK and Europe. The pub only has 4 rooms and while they are quite small, we found our 2 rooms to be quite comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful with advice on places to see and suitable walks (OS Explorer maps provide). The breakfasts are highly recommended.

The hotel can be a bit tricky to find at night heading from the ferry (it is much easier to see when driving in from Hawkshead. If you are driving from the ferry and you reach Sawrey House Hotel, you have gone about 150 metres too far. Turn around and you will see it on your right hand side.

Just back from our second weekend break at the Tower Bank Arms. Yet again we had a fantastic break, wonderful food, warm fires and such a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere, even our whippet managed to find himself the perfect fireside spot for some post walk sleeping! This really is such a lovely spot, I hope it never changes.

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the smaller rooms but it had such charm it was lovely.

Delicious food, welcoming staff and a lovely atmosphere. We stayed in Yan which was plenty big enough for us with our 2 medium sized dogs. (Which were also made very welcome too!) The view from our room was stunning too.

Chosen for a family birthday special meal, it most certainly delivered! It's a pretty pub, inside and out with little touches of Beatrix Potter, roaring fires, friendly staff and superb food! It's also very special to visit a place that has been as a subject for one of Beatrix Potter's books. If you are a fan, you must visit. And even if you are not, you will still be very glad you went :-)
Thank you Tower Bank for making our birthday celebration so special
