“Lamb to die for”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2014

Stopped in here during recent stay in Calahorra. Went at opening time, 9:00pm and was almost empty, the benefit of being a UK, "early eater".
One menu in English but we we're helped by Spanish speaker in our party to select our food. Ordered lamb and it was the most tender half leg I have eaten. No need for knives here, meat fell off the bone and really tasty. Minimal veg supplied, a few pieces of potato, but was surprised by how full we all were at the end of the meal, helped by the plentiful supply of bread & oil to chew on while we waited. Location out of the way, but we found it easy 5 mins on foot from the centre of town. Well worth a visit if you're staying in the area

“Great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 November 2012

Being invited for a business lunch by our local partner we immensely enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Try local delicacies (ammanita mushrooms being one of them). Lamb was also great!

“Worth seeking out in a dull town if staying overnight at Parador”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 September 2012

We had a one night stay at the Parador and wandered around the usual shut town in the afternoon, by evening everything had come to life but there was not a restaurant to be found.
This restaurant was in our guide book and was not in a great part of town. The menu was scruffy and we were a bit apprehensive, however when the food arrived it was a different story. The best goats cheese salad starter I've had in a long time followed by a great steak. All was very good and this is a quality restaurant with very capable cooks. It is in the old town which all lacks charm and therefore there were no tourists, just locals but that is a good sign.
