We saw this hotel advertised in the Læsø booklet and compared their websites with others on the island. They had a special 2 days price so we booked. Getting to Læsø is easy, the E45 motorway takes you straight to the harbour and the ferry goes about 6 times a day. Booking is recommended, especially in season; however we found the ship delighfully empty and the crossing (1½hrs) was very good. If you like peace and quiet (the nature as the Scandavians call it) you will love Læsø, the wildlife is varied and very special. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. It was ran, seemingly single-handedly, by Alex, who cooked and served the wonderful set-course evening meal and baked delicious bread for breakfast; and spoke excellent English. Although there was no choice of food in the evening, the selection was different each night, with people's special dietary needs catered for if informed in advance. We started with delicious fish soup with pieces of lobster in it for the first evening meal, a speciality of the island. We liked everything put in front of us and the wine selection was of good quality. The rooms were spotless and the bed comfortable, a must for a spouse with a bad back. We could not hear a sound at night. As it was centrally located on the island, everything was easy to reach. We will come back with our cycles next time - this island has great opportunities both on and off road.
