We really enjoyed the stay! The staff was very helpful in sorting out our plans, the service was always ready to satisfy any wish, rooms are spacey and clean and the pool area is perfect to relax after a busy day program... I can perfectly recommend this place!

Rooms are gorgeous, clean and quite large. The staff went way out of their way to help us by getting us cabs, bike rentals, making calls for us and more. The pool area was quite relaxing and the restaurant was very good. Downside was that the wi-fi was unreliable in the room, but worked fine in the lobby. (Truthfully we had trouble with wi-fi throughout Argentina, so no sure if it's the hotel or the network). Very close to several wineries, but if you don't have a car, very limited for walking to restaurants/bars etc. If you're choosing this to unwind and enjoy the hotel, it's a great fit.

I’ll put it this way: I’ve been using Trip Advisor for years to research hotels, but I only just became a member to review this very hotel. The Villa Mansa Wine Hotel excelled in every aspect, unbelievably so considering the price we spent for our lodgings. I will preface also by saying that, during our stay in early December, we were the only guests staying in the hotel. Thus, our experience may have been different from the norm, yet I highly doubt that the service or overall experience that this small and very young hotel offers (only 15 rooms in total, whose doors opened in 2011) would be any less exceptional during peak times.

It was in its service that the Villa Mansa truly shined. It appeared to us that 100% of positions were staffed by Barbara, who acted at once as concierge, guest relations, wine sommelier, and elegant waitress. At every turn, we seemed to find her happily working away at some task or another in a different place in the hotel. I joke, of course, as the hotel has multiple fine employees in its service, including a gourmet chef who, on one slow night, took the liberty of personally delivering our room service to us. There were even two friendly Golden Retrievers to keep us company during our walks around the grounds, and especially during breakfast. This was a strategic decision on their part, I assume.

And for good reason, too. We were never able to finish the breakfasts provided in the morning, simply for there being too much food and too many options. Breakfast included choices of fresh juice, piping hot coffee or tea, a selection of meats and cheeses, a selection of breads, muffins, and pastries with jams, choices of cereals with yogurt or milk, and made-to-order scrambled eggs. Served in the lovely house-restaurant or patio overlooking the pool, breakfast was pure decadence. The same was true for the dinner menu, which, although limited in its offerings, was as visually pretty and delicious as any menu found in a 4-star restaurant in Mendoza. Of course, throughout the day, the extensive wine list was available, boasting a selection of Argentinian Chardonnays and Malbecs, some of which were created within only miles of the hotel (Mendoza is the heart of Malbec country, you know!).

The Villa Mansa Wine Hotel is located in Lujan de Cuyo, about twenty minutes southwest of Mendoza proper, which offers scenery as well as serenity to its guests, but at a price (about $150 ARS, or $20 USD, for a taxi ride in one direction from the hotel to the city, not to mention trying to explain to the taxi driver just where the hell it is). The hotel itself is located on a large plot of land that is surrounded on 3 sides by vineyards. Being out in the country, there is a diverse population of wild birds (including some beautiful birds of prey that perched on the balcony railings only dozens of meters away). Upon our arrival, we spent at least half an hour walking around the great room and exploring the shelves of the basement wine cellar. By day, we sat by the pool (which was clean and cool, perfect for the summer heat) drinking wine and enjoying the beautifully manicured lawn in the center of the grounds. In the early evening, we sat on the balcony of our room and watched the fields sparkle with fireflies.

Did I mention that all of the rooms have balconies overlooking the fields? Our room was absurdly spacious, and could have easily fit half a dozen people comfortably; vaulted ceilings, king-sized bed, additional third bed for larger parties, DirecTV, very modern decorating and accent lighting, and a bathroom that I wanted for my own home. We slept great every night, and it was always quiet. The only noise we heard came from construction across the street where the new hotel spa was being built.

It might seem cheesy to say that the Villa Mansa Wine Hotel was a magical place, but the truth is that I genuinely felt like I was in a special place, and I was very sad to leave. With reasonable prices and a first-rate experience, I would absolutely recommend this hotel to any young travelers looking for a relaxing, romantic getaway in the heart of Argentinian wine country.

We were so happy with the hotel. Service, food and accommodations were excellent. After our visit to Buenos Aires, the peace and quiet of Villa Mansa was needed. Our room and views of the Andies and we were close to all of the vineyards. The staff was also helpful in planning activities. If you are looking to relax, Villa Manasa is a much better option than staying in Mendoza City, which is busy, noisy and dirty.

My fiance and I stayed at Villa Mansa for two nights in October. The small hotel is spotless, the rooms were big and comfortable, the light breakfast was pretty good and the people were very nice. However, we were frustrated with a few issues including: the ac unit that jarred us awake in the middle of the night making loud banging sounds to indicate it was about to explode, the lack of clean towels on the second night, even after asking more than once for them (we had used our other towels for the pool), our sink faucet leaked, there was no shower curtain or door so things would get pretty wet in the large bathroom, and there was no bottled water available in the room, which would seem reasonable since we're in a desert area, at higher elevations and many of us are dehydrated from exploring wineries throughout the day. These are small things that when taken individually wouldn't be a big deal, but together, it can make for a less than relaxing experience. That said, these are issues that can be easily corrected and this will be a gem of a place to stay in Mendoza. PS: On behalf of many women, I recommend they put a full length mirror in the rooms.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the mountains.

My wife,a small tour group and Istayed here one night. Everyone agreed we would have loved to stay longer. After a drive over the Andes from Santiago, Villa Mansa was a very welcome reward. It is quiet, out of the way, offers great views of the Andean foothills and the first range, is located close to numerous wineries. Breakfast was good. Staff were helpful in assisting our group with a little wine and nibbles. Our room was very nice. Has a pool, but only one of us used it. Only niggly, one needs a car or needs to rely on a local transport as it is out of the way. We would go back if in the area.

Room Tip: Second floor offers better mountain views.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting the Mendosa region wineries and really enjoyed it.

The room was very good. Generously spacious with a sitting area and with nice modern decor and amenities. Bathroom was nice and the bed was very good. The door and key card had some kind of mechanical or electrical issue and took many tries to get it open. On every occasion it opened eventually and we started getting better at the opening technique. We forgot to mention the door issue to the front desk checking out (apologies).

The hotel common areas are also very good. They've gone with a modern, clean decor, but with rustic bits and pieces appropriate to the region: saddles and such. All the areas are airy, spacious and well lit with natural light. Really liked the feel of the place. The central pool area is also very appealing, where we'd spend at least an hour after exploring. The pool was quite chilly but refreshing for short dips. There are two resident Labradors, that I thought were very pleasant and fit right in with the hotel, though they do beg at the outside tables, which might bother some guests.

Buffet Breakfast was very good with all the usuals (cereal, toast, fruit salad, yoghurt) and eggs to order in the very pleasant dining area.

One of the drawbacks for villa mansa is that while the overall location is good, it's somewhat hidden away down a dirt road and surrounded on two sides by fairly barren lots. It's not a huge issue, but certainly not as pleasant on the eye as being surrounded by olive groves or vineyards.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us! Sorry about the door lock, we'll make sure to have a look to it so it doesnt happen again.

Our dogs are most of the time the stars of our hotel, however if for any reason they bother a guest, they are very well trained to receive orders, so our staff can point them to another place. Hope you enjoyed their presence!
