“Perfect!”
Reviewed 20 June 2014 via mobile

For some hotels Tripadvisor should have a especial six star category for Perfect. This is what Wine Cavas Lodge was for my wife and I celebrating our wedding 15th anniversary. Mendoza wine tours are a must do itself. Wine Cavas Lodge adds to a great experience. The rooms, or better, the individual lodges are a dream come true with a living room, a bedroom with a great king size bed, closet and a incredible bathroom with an awesome tube for relaxing. That's not all...a downstair verandah with a small swimming pool for the hot summer days and a upstair balcony with a outdoor twin sofa and a fireplace to enjoy a nice Malbec at sunset. The staff are all great and very friendly, going out of their way to fulfill your needs. Great vineyard tours and hiking are among the several options, along with a Spa and also horseback riding. This is truly a individual experience. Fantastic place and atmosphere. Come, relax and enjoy a perfect place!

We spent three days in this magic place and we can assure that every single detail was beyond perfection. Great scenery, comfortable and luxury with incredible service, everything was over the highest standards. This is a small, charming, highly sophisticated place, run by Martin and Cecilia who are extraordinary hosts, highly educated and warm (in the honest way). Al staff members were very kind and helpful in all senses, very correct and clear with the information we requested. The spa is a magical place and the staff is highly trained. The rooms are located in a vineyard and have impressive views to Los Andes. Comfort and sophistication is in every detail. The restaurant was, not surprisingly, extraordinary, and it’s a must, even if you are not staying at Cavas. We took the bike tour to the wine cellars and enjoyed it a lot. Car transportation is also available at the front desk. In a few words: Cavas Wine Lodge is a magical place to go with service at the highest standards.

My husband and I just completed a 5 night stay and couldn't have been happier with the experience.
The location was very well suited to explore many different wineries.
The accommodations are romantic and spacious. The balcony fireplace was a beautiful way for us to end a day watching the sunset over the Andes and enjoy a wonderful bottle of wine.
We went horseback riding through the neighboring vineyards with a gaucho, tasting some grapes and seeing the most amazing owls who live underground!
The food was fabulous. Breakfast was delicious, with abundant hot and cold options. The view of the Andes while enjoying your first cup of coffee of the day was perfection.
We had dinner several nights as the resort is rather out of the way. But that was not a compromise, the food was very well prepared and presented. The service at both meals was attentive, well paced and professional. The wine list was extensive and reasonably priced.
We also wish the fitness center was better appointed, we would have used it more.
Finally, we really appreciated the hands on management of the owners Martin and Cecilia who really make sure their guests' experiences are as if you were staying with them at their home.
We were so glad we stayed there.

Exceptional rooms with nice appointments. Service was excellent whenever and wherever we needed it. We would have preferred a better appointed fitness center, but apparently it has been infrequently visited. The breakfasts and dinners we had in the hotel restaurant were exceptional and again service was perfect. Staying at Cavas Wine Lodge was a real treat.

We stayed in Cavas in February 2014 at the end of two weeks in the north of Argentina. Me and my boyfriend were very happy to get the chance to stay in this hotel, that is said to be the best in Argentina.

We decided to be adventurous and to visit north Argentina with a backpack and we arrived in Mendoza by bus, late and dirty with our backpacks at the bus station. We were 5 hours late after a long night in the bus, stressed out and worried because the hotel had sent a driver to fetch us. The man was still there, waiting for us and while we felt terribly bad for him he was so nice and kind. The people at the hotel were very nice when we arrived and we did not feel any surprise from them nor snobbish attitude like I am sure we could have felt at other places. I am not used to arrive in very nice places wearing sportswear and a backpack so I was very shy, but they made us feel at ease and welcomed.

The bags were promptly taken away and we received a glass of wine and from there we felt that we were taken in charge, with the highest standards you can get in a luxury hotel. The room was of course, perfect, with a lot of nice details, from the ambient music to the small snacks served when we arrived. The wineyard around the property and, of course, the view, are wonderful too.

The winery tour they organized us the next day was also perfect, with a visit of Achaval Ferrer, Ruca Malen and Vinas Cobos. Lunch at Ruca Malen was so nice, out of this world and I recommend it strongly. We also had a couple massage that afternoon, one of the best massage I ever had. My boyfriend is very muscular and it is rare that he is completely satisfied after a massage but that lady was good and sure had strong hands!!!

The food at Cavas was good but not extraordinary. One thing that kind of bugged me was, when you eat they come and propose you flat or sparkling water, it comes in small bottles and they will fill your glass everytime it is empty, without asking. They do the same when you order a glass of wine, but at the end of your stay, when you receive the bill all those bottles of water are charged -and you pay them the high price - with of course the extra glasses of wine. I just felt like, while we were there at many points during our stay I was given the impression that some things were included, given the high pricing of the rooms and of the restaurant, but everything was noted and charged.

Overall, great place, great rooms, great concierge and great service. Good food.

Reagan and I experienced one of the most beautiful places in South America when we chose to stay here. The stay far exceeded our expectations. The wine, the view, the service, all were first class. We partook in wine tastings, wine tours, and even a champagne tasting. The experience is one we will never forget!

If you are looking for a high-end rustic retreat on a vineyard, this is it! The little villas are adorable right on the vineyard with stunning views -- from the rainshower, upstairs lounging deck and plunge pool -- nothing has been missed. The restaurant was excellent for breakfast and lunch, but dinner menus were more like 4-stars not 5-stars. They're local Cavas wine is great. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and truly know how to make someone feel like they stepped into a luxury retreat. A honeymoon must!

Room Tip: Get a room farther away from the main house to get a little more quiet.
