Good location for exploring Yala National Park. Rooms were very good, as were their facilities, pleasant surroundings inside and lovely outside, surrounded by paddy fields. Hotel provided huge packed lunches and good dinners, buffet style. Loud music one night which was dificult as safaris need early mornings! Staff oblidging but aloof. No alchohol served on public holidays inc Christmas which wasn't an issue due to those early mornings.

Room Tip: further away from main reception/dining area to avoid music

The hotel is well located to visit Yala park and Kataragama temple.
Rooms, dining hall and swimming pool are overlooking rice fields which are full with birds. the hotel is clean, modern, spotless clean with friendly staff and tasty food. excellent value for money

Room Tip: more privacy on second floor rooms

Nice and clean, but expensive and we found that the place lacked character. The setting is okay (and the pool is nice) but nothing that justifies the price tag. No mosquito nets in the rooms and when the staff came into our room while we were at dinner for an (unnecessary) evening turndown they let mosquitos in.

My wife and I had a marvellous time in the Yala National Park and after a long day we were looking forward to go back to our Hotel Priyankara.

Lovely setting just next to paddy fields, nice pool and lovely ambiance.

We went to Yala for the purpose of doing a safari in April 2014. We arrived early in the morning after a long and tiring day of travel from Colombo. The Resident Manager warmly welcomed us and helps arrange everything very fast though it was too early. The setting was beautiful. The kids loved everything. The food was great, staff was friendly which was a nice comparison to most of other hotels we stayed during past. The pool was fun for the kids. We enjoyed this hotel very much.

Stayed 2 nights while visiting Yalla. Would stay at this hotel again, but would never recommend Yalla NP for a visit to anyone until they organise the jeeps better. Was absolute chaos when we visited the park. Last year we visited Unawalawa NP and saw lots of elephants without 500 jeeps all vying for a spot.
Hotel was only small, but well appointed, nice swimming pool, although they need more umbrellas for shade. Restaurant was nice, but only buffet dinner available. First night was below average, with second night better. Staff very friendly, but mozzie zappers were needed for the dining area.
