I booked this hotel 2 weeks before travelling to sri lanka. A week before arrival they had charged my credit card for the full room rate which is OK. But what is absolutely not OK is that upon arrival we discovered there are major renovations going on and that the property is absolutely in no condition to receive guests. The biggest disappointment is that they had accepted our booking and charged my credit card, while they knew that it was impossible to operate the hotel!! I even got an email if I wanted to book safari, or any other activity on offer!
So there we were with 3 kids and they redirected us to another hotel. Which was in NO way worth the 165$ per night that Saraii VIllage had charged us. We decided to look for another hotel and found the Flower Garden hotel which had a nice family cottage. I requested a refund on my credit card from Saraii Village.
BIG disappointment, it is unacceptable to let guests travel to your hotel whilst you know you cannot accommodate them, and how simple is it to just give a phonecall or email to explain that the booking cannot be made???More
