Lovely small hotel, with comfortable room overlooking pool. Pool itself was lovely, water was so warm, like having a bath, and great sun loungers. Dinner was great, nice change not to have a buffet, had packed breakfast as out early for Yala Safari. As check out was not until 12:00 we were able to come back after our safari for a swim and a shower. Would definately recommend.

This is a quiet and peaceful property....with courteous staff.. although the rooms need to be renovated and a little more cleanliness is required as I could see cobwebs around the lights inthe lobby and dinning area ...and something seriously needs to be done about flies and mosquitoes at the dinning tables...besides also the small pond was very marshy

Sadly we stayed for just one night at The Tamarind Tree Hotel near Yala National Park in February while touring Sri Lanka. This was the favourite of all the hotels we stayed at and would have loved to stay longer.
We had a nice welcome and were shown to Room 106 on the ground floor next to a lovely outdoor pool. This hotel was an elegant oasis of calm set in beautifully kept grounds. Beautifully designed and furnished public areas and a nice room. Our room had ample space with a single bed as well as a large double bed. The room had a mini fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, 2 complimentary bottles of mineral water, room safe, good air con and TV with BBC World News.
The free Wi-Fi was a bit limited and we were not able to download attachments from our room. We had to go into the public areas for this. I think they had an English style electrical socket but cannot be sure.
There was a lovely big bathroom with large walk-in shower plus a few complimentary toiletries. There was no hairdryer but I expect you could request one from reception.
It was a quiet and comfortable room and had a little verandah with a table and two chairs and looked across to the outdoor pool.
Dinner was in an attractive restaurant and was a set meal of 4 courses with a choice of mains and dessert.
Breakfast was brought to your table and cooked to order and not buffet style.
It was an elegant and relaxing hotel.

What can I say about this hotel. It is up a back street and looks uninviting until the gate opens and you arrive at a little oasis. The welcome we received with ice cold towels and a cold glass of fruit juice helped us to relax immediately. The reception staff were charming and welcoming. The pool area is beautiful and we had a two ground floor rooms overlooking the pool. The rooms were both spacious and clean and have air conditioning although this as in most hotels now is controlled by the key. However, our room was still pleasantly cool when we returned from our days safari. The bathroom is spacious with a lovely shower. We had a packed breakfast on the first day as we went on safari which consisted of a sandwich, cake, banana, hard boiled egg and a carton of juice. Dinner was a four course set menu with a choice of three options for the main course. It was nicely presented and tasty and made a pleasant change from the more generic buffets we have had in the other hotels on our tour. Altogether a wonderful stay with polite helpful staff and beautiful surroundings
