Whaler's Restaurant serves in addition to the usual cafe fare, the meals that are intrinsically linked to the culture in this part of Canada. The seafood is caught off the shore of Labrador and purchased from the Union plant in L'Anse au Loup. Marilyn's corn fish, fish cakes and Jigg's dinner are the best I have ever eaten, and the homemade fresh fries and jams are excellent. We stopped in Red Bay for a meal, but the food was so good and the staff so friendly, we stayed three days!

Had a fanatic cod fish dinner here. Large portions and very tasty. Served by Doreen who was very helpful with our visit. Very friendly staff! The gift shop attached was also very good and the attendant very informative regarding out Labrador purchases. Don't miss this spot if you are in Red Bay!!

Highly recommend stopping at Whaler's Restaurant in Red Bay - located next door to the Parks Canada Red Bay National Historic Site. The waitress told us they had "the best cod fish dinner in the province." Since we like to eat local food when traveling, we have had a lot of cod dinner over the last 2 weeks - and she was not exaggerating. Friendly, helpful staff. I wanted to try all three berries and when I asked the waitress how each tasted, she suggested an ice cream sundae with all three in layers so that I could taste each one. BTW, partridgeberry was my favorite. Definitely one of the best places to eat on Labrador's coastal drive.

Nice little place to eat. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The fish and chips were great. Some of the best I'd had in Labrador. The bakeapple pie was good.
