we went to norre vissing to stay in one of their rooms in the annex.. but went on to another hotel in Aarhus after seeing the rooms, eventhough we had lready paid for a stay including breakfast. They didnt look like the rooms on the website at all. The rooms in the seperate building are not much cosier than the trailers tey use at building sites. They are moist and dark and the tv is placed so you can't watch it from the bed. Instead you have to sit in the two garden chairs they have placed inside.
But the staff are extremely friendly and service minded, so I sincerely hope they invest in the rooms, because I do hope they can make it work. The stars are only because of the friendly staff and owners.

I had been emailing with Nørre Vissing in advance that we were having Luxury rooms with private balcony. When we arrived, we were given a small and hot room with no terrace and with horrible traffic noise. We went back to the reception (where girl was serving food in the restaurant at the same time and had a lot of stress) She gave us a new key that was a room with terrace. But this room was not cleaned! Back to the reception again, and the receptionist/waitress did not have any more Lux rooms available. She did not recommend the basic rooms. We ended up in the horrible double room with no terrace. Travelling with a baby, this room was a nightmare.
However, the dinner started the uphill experience of this place. Fantastic restaurant!! THE best meal we had in our one week trip in Denmark visiting gourmet restaurants/kro. During the meal, we got to know that the lux room with terrace was cleaned and ready for us! We really appreciated this, it meant a lot to us. Still noise from the road outside the kro, but the best option with no doubt.

Room Tip: Go for the lux rooms and make sure you get a room with terrace!

We stayed in a superior room. Room was spacious with balcony ( room nr 1) extra table with to chairs and also chairs and table on the balcony. Room also was clean. Bed ok. The Venetian blind for the windows were not sufficient. Early morning light waked us up. In the bathroom the blinds we too short for the window, we couldn't believe someone has actually hang them.

We knew restaurant was closed on monday as we arrived on a monday. A man (we don't know who he was) gave us a room key and this happened in the parking space outside the hotel. It appeared that hotel also was closed, so we opened with the key the fornt door of the hotel ( n o onw inside) and went looking for our room. Not very welcoming. No further barfacilities that day.
TV had only 3 Danish channels. Wifi is available in the room at no costs.

The next day we booked a 3 course dinner in the restaurant. It took them 3 hours to serve this to us. It was really too long for a menu of the day. There was only one hardworking man who served on his own the 19 persons who were eating in the restaurant. This was really not enough to give the guests the attention and good serving as you may expect in such a restaurant. because it was too busy for this man, the tables were not cleaned after the guests left. So at one time we were looking at 4 tables with the remains of the food and drinks of other people. Dinner was ok. But not exciting.

Had my wedding reception at this beautiful old inn last weekend. The service provided by all staff was very warm and professional and our guests had a beautiful experience. The room we stayed in (the deluxe category) was spacious and well appointed with all the basic ammenities, including free wireless internet access. The strength in this venue lies within its main dining area and courtyard. The inside dining space is sooo cute with candles and beautifully displayed flower arangements creating a very hygge atmosphere. This space is just as beautiful for a normal dining night, though it was a sight to be seen on our wedding night. Morten, the owner and head chef is a pleasure to deal with and it is easy to see why the place is so great when you speak to him as his passion for high standards is evident in his words. The quality of food for such a large group was v good (from the afternoon sandwiches through the yummy hot dogs at 2am). I think this venue is perfect for a romantic couple wanting a quite candlelit dinner, though it was spot on for a large party such as ours totalling in 65 people. All our guests said the venue was fantastic, enjoying the pretty courtyard in the afternoon and running amok on the dance floor at the end of the night.
One of the few weaknesses of the venue was the front desk, with a lady being very short in patience with a couple of my my guests when checking out of their rooms. It was also quite difficult to gain someones attention when waiting at the front desk. The one other thing that would make a difference to the rooms is access to a kettle, tea and coffee as it is a long drive to access this in the nearest town.
Overall I thinks Norre Vissing Kro is a hidden gem, and would highly recommend you to try it.

Room Tip: pay a little bit more for the deluxe rooms as they are much better. Try and get a room far away from...

Just a cosy and very personal place to stay. Good rooms, good location as a starting point for trips with the car and - greatest plus for us: lots of heartwarming details like flower decoration, very nice breakfast buffet and great cuisine. No standard luxury hotel thus, but a special place at very affordable rates in Danish terms. Loudness of traffic was nothing we really felt problematic.

my dear travellers, this is not the Hyatt or anything that comes near a modern hotel in the city center of a european metropol.

This is a gem "in the middle of nowhere" which happens to be Jutland. An Inn with a very good kitchen and for those who like to stay close to the incredible walks and cosiness you will find in the triangle of cities nearby; Silkeborg, Arhus and Skanderborg /Ry.

The rooms has been modified, and the DKK 900 "deluxe" rooms gives you a fair deal including breakfast. Staying in the anneks is only for people, which aim in life is to get the cheapest room ever.

In denmark we have around 3 weeks a year with hot temperatures. However this is no reason not to built a new hotel room without aircondition. There are other reasons in this hotel that want you to keep the doors shut. The main one is the road directly outside, which has become a problem, because the architect forgot to use soundproof windows when renovating the room.

All in all, if you love nature, have access to a car, want to be in the center of the triangle I mentioned before, the only thing you will have to accept is a room without aircon and soundproof windows. At a price of DKK 900 including breakfast, this is a very fair deal.

A "normal" 4 star hotel such as the radisson sas in Silkeborg charges you DKK 1.545 as I write this review. You save DKK 645. Enough for a great meal in Norre Vissing Kro restaurant.

If you love the cosiness in the Jutland countryside you will love this "Kro" (Inn) :-)

What can you possibly say about a hotel where, when the credit card reader refuses to work, the receptionist/accountant/manager hands you the bill with the encouragement to send the money when you get back home. Somehow, however, this did give a real sense of the Norre Vissing Kro, which was charming and frustrating in equal proportions. So, its inability to acknowledge bookings and the somewhat fragmented approach to customer service was tempered by this touching optimism about human nature. Of course, we did pay.

The first thing to say about Denmark is that it is just mouth-wateringly expensive, and even more so with fragility of the pound and the enthusiasm of the Danes for high taxes. We were in Jutland to celebrate the wedding of a friend, once in Shanghai and now in Denmark. The kro looked just idyllic on the website with pastel shades, wall to wall candles and an enthusiasm for food. Its a pity then that no one mentioned the main road a yard from the door although, to be fair, this was not the M6 but just busy and hilly enough to hear the gear changes outside the window. And so with the rooms, which were adequate if a touch stark. It may not have helped that the best rooms were in the roof, closest to road, and these were some of the hottest days of the summer when opening the roof lights was the only way of compensating for the lack of air-conditioning. Perhaps there was a code that we had overlooked, as getting the room cleaned and the towels replaced daily was perhaps not as straightforward as it should have been.

Now, if all this sounds a little grudging, then the story about the concern for good food was true. This is a pub that takes its cooking extremely seriously, not least because the working chefs are all visible though the glass window from the charming dining room. I understood that the menu had changed on the day we arrived and that could have been the reason why the meal took some three hours to serve with the fish and dessert scoring high marks but the wild boar, sadly, over-cooked to a uniform toughness. The breakfast buffet is excellent.

Would we return, well, maybe. What is probably true is that this is more a restaurant with over-night rooms than a comfortable pub that happens to serve good food.
