Vacz Remete Pince is situated 5 minutes walk from the lovely Vac town square and ferry terminal, just off the Danube, but with a decent view of the river from its attractive elevated terrace.
The menu is extensive and my wife and I each had a main course and dessert. The portions are very large, and I while I like a lot of sauce with my meals, the quantities we had with our fillet steak and chicken dishes was a bit OTT. The meat was very well cooked and tasty. The accompaniments were plentiful and flavoursome. Didn't think I could mange my melon flambe when I saw it but it was so good I was almost licking the plate at the end.
Service was very good and at a nice slowish pace for a relaxing lunch if you are not in hurry.
We paid about £30 for two large portions each, with wine, coffee and mineral water. We were well stuffed but very content when we left
