I spent a week at a yoga retreat here mid-September and then continued on to explore Spain for another month. I never found another place that could touch it. John and Karen are amazing hosts, perhaps the best I have encountered in a lifetime of travel. The food was superb and the place lovely, soothing, tranquil and beautiful. My mistake was starting my journey here because nothing else could live up to it. I recommend that you end your journey here and return home restored.

I took a group of 14 people in total for a week's yoga retreat and it couldn't have been more perfect. The accommodation is in a restored chateau which is done very sympathetically, all rooms ensuite. The yoga room was light and airy with a beautiful wooden floor. The food was to die for, in fact when we went out for a meal at a local restaurant, the food couldn't compare with Karen's. Our hosts had the perfect combination of attentiveness without fussiness. The only complaint I received was the rooms could have been more sound proofed. It just meant that people had to think of others a little more but that helps the yoga! It is set on a hill overlooking beautiful countryside, perfect for meditation. I've booked for next year.

We've just arrived back from a week at Chateau Perroterie and wish we were still there. The food and service were of a high standard and we were very well looked after. All the food is home cooked and we were made to feel like part of the famaily. The chateau is located under 3kms from Duras where you have all amenities you would need such as bank, chemist and a castle to explore. Rooms are all on-suite and have good quality fittings, there are also plenty of books to read, board games and a swimming pool to help you un-wind. Overall, I would recommend staying here if you want a bit of peace and quiet with great food and affable hosts.

Self catering for up to 16 people, all rooms en-suite. Plenty of room outside and inside, we had a good time here. Massages in the Chateau were very good. Local Shoppi had a good range of food etc . Allow 100 euros for cleaning unless you want to do a top notch clean before you leave. And expect to pay for any breakages. Suggest you take your own towels, if you have room, in case the sun tan lotion marks the ones provided.
