“Tres bon plats”
Reviewed 12 February 2014

We where with friends again in la table 2 de Julien with friends for dinner. Everythiing was llike it has been: very tasty dishes and a warm welcome by the owner. Only the waiter is not very agreable at time. He made some stupid jokes to my husband when asked for the name of the wine: " oh that I won't tell " Ans some other so called funny remarks. He' s not our friend and one should treat the guests like guests. Sometimes he hasn' t the patience to waite for an answer and walks off.

Great restaurant lovely people. Well worth a visit.
Not very expensive but french cooking at its best
Have been here and in their former premises in St Maxime on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed

“poor service and food did not meet expectations”
Reviewed 20 January 2014

Restaurant recommended by a frequent visitor to the area. My friend had eaten there often and raved about the experience. She joined us for a celebratory dinner and concurred that restaurant failed to meet expectations. We were taken aback by the curtness of the waiter who seemed annoyed when we placed our olive pits on an empty glass since no receptical had been provided. This event unnecessarily set the tone for the evening and dampened the celebratory mood. Presentation on appetizer plates was beautiful but on only one of three won good reviews on taste (fois gras). Poultry as main was good, but the fish dish was underwhelming. Perhaps an off night in the kitchen??? Would try the restaurant again, but no matter how good the cook, a waiter in a bad mood can ruin the best of dishes!

“Great restaurant short drive from Uzès”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

Run by a young inspiring couple and creative cooks, this mid- to upper end restaurant provides year round full French menus prepared with in season local foods, a great selection of local wines and very creative desserts. Have eaten there several times in the evening with friends visiting and each time enjoyed both the meal and service. Overall rating very good to excellent.

“What a find!”
Reviewed 1 November 2013

We have visited Uzes many times, and as one other reviewer suggest, the restaurants are pleasant but the food unexceptional.

This time with the help of Trip Advisor we found La Table 2 Julien in Montaren Saint Mediers just outside Uzes.

We visited lunchtime Saturday, market day in Uzes. The restaurant soon filled up, I would judge everyone had a reservation.

We were only offered the fixed menu at 24 euros though we later realised that other options were available. Starter was mushroom risotto, main sea bream with a mild garlic sauce, and sabayon with home made ice cream for dessert. Great food and outstanding value.

The exterior and interior are quite ordinary. They appeared to have an outside space that was not in use, probably because of the time of year. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

A classic case of great food triumphing over all. Can't recommend it more.
