“Great vacations on Milos”
Reviewed 10 July 2013 via mobile

Apollo rooms was very pleasant place.
Hosts very hospitable and nice. They told us about interesting places, beaches on the island and gave the islands map.
Our apartments had nice view on the sea and one’s terrace. Room isn’t big, but comfortable.
Room is very clean. There are TV, small fridge, air-conditioner, but there isn’t hairdryer.
Very many cats around when you set on the terrace.
Apollo have new building with big rooms.
Early morning we swim in front hotel. The beach is rocky , there good swimming with mask.
No problem with parking.

We stayed at Apollon for 4 nights in June. We really enjoyed the place who really is next to the sea and has beautiful vistas to the Island of Kimolos. The owners are very friendly and laidback. The little town of Pollonia in general is a nice place to stay.

Our family just enjoyed a week at Apollon rooms and would definitely return. Stavroulos and her son were such wonderful hosts and her cooking is delicious. The pool is so nice to have and there's a great swimming hole nearby. It's a ten minute walk to the pretty Harbour and the restaurants are all lovely. Picture postcard setting really. Take the ferry to Kimolos for a day trip it's worth it and have lunch there.
Overall a great stay. Thank you!

We wanted a nice, quiet retreat uncrowded by other tourists, and we found it at Soultana's Rooms, which is a part of the Apollon complex. Soultana is the mother-in-law of the operator of Apollon, and they shae facilities like the pool, lobby, seaside food counter, etc.

Soultana treated our twelve year old son like a grandson and she always shouted "Bravo!" at our efforts to speak basic Greek phrases. I'm sure you will be treated just as well when you go there.

Expectations are everything in rating accommodations online, so you need to know what to expect at Apollon. The rooms are nicely sized and appointed, and very basic, which is exactly what we were looking for. This is not a fancy resort; it is very standard. Someone likened it to a backpacker place, and that's close but under-sells it. It's on a dusty peninsula on the NE corner of Milos, so the neighborhood is standard Greek village, not landscaped resort property. The rocky outcroppings and wooden dock are fun for playing and swimming in the sea, and the lack of a sandy beach is not an issue. The water in June was a little chilly but not an issue once you were acclimated to it.

From Apollon and Soultana's, it's a 5 to 10 minute walk into Pollonia, where you will find several very good seafood restaurants. There's a little cafe, Rifaki, that can be your morning-coffee to evening-beer hangout during your stay. There are wonderful beaches on Milos, most on the south side where there are very few places to stay, so rent a car and explore the island.

The family at Apollon and Soultana's work very hard and will definitely do everything they can to make your stay a fun one. We had a blast and I hope someday we get to visit again. We highly recommend the island of Milos and Apollon/Soultana's.

We are a family of 5 always looking to get away from the well trodden path. Milo's ticks all the boxes and it will forever remain as one of our most memorable holidays.

We stayed at Apollon Rooms for 5 days and were not disappointed. We used Trip Advisor to plan the whole trip and once you learn to read between the lines it is not hard to work out the best value/places to stay.

Rooms at Apollon were clean, comfortable and very good value. The location is beautiful with some wonderful natural swimming pools right out front. The nearby town of Pollonia is a magical fishing town with some excellent restaurants.

The hosts Stavroula and her son were always attentive and helpful. Their recommendations for sight-seeing and restaurants were particularly helpful.

The boat trips around the island were a highlight for us. I cannot remember which boat we wne t on ( the Captian was a local with many years of experience) but if you go down to Adamas port (the day before) and go with your gut feeling you cant go wrong. It is a day you will never forget and fully catered! It was so memorable and fun and we went twice!

It is hard to describe just how beautiful and rugged this island is. We feel we stayed on the right side of the island as the little town of Pollonia is gorgeous.

For family value it would be hard to fault Apollon!

What could we add? Yes, paradise, definitely.
Because of the 4 generation-family you will meet here: friendly, helpful, funny, coming up with the insights you are just looking for, making this unique atmosphere you won’t find elsewhere.
Because of the breathtaking view you can watch for hours, without getting bored from it, the gorgeous colors from sunrise till sunset, the sweetness of the curves of the opposite island, the natural shapes of the sandy coves a few steps lower, the rocky stretch of the coast with sea inlets to swim into or jump from, etc. Indeed, when the wind blows at 6 Beaufort, where can children nonetheless enjoy a quiet sea bath? You’ve got it, downstairs, by watching the waves from the coves with a shiver of excitement.
Because Milos among the Cyclades, as well as this place among the others, are unsurpassable. We’ve been staying at hotel Apollon for 12 years and actually everybody feels here at home since no difference is made among people, is it their 1st or 20th visit. But when you’re a regular guest, you can notice that every year, novelty or freshness has emerged. Once, the hotel had simply doubled in size!
Please Makis, Stavroula, the two Tassos, Nikos, Sultana, Maria, all of you, don’t change anything, keep being that lovely crazy fantastic people. Thanks to you, we find out every summer the whole energy we need in order to go through the remaining year.

Room Tip: Rooms with a sea view are a little bit less cosy and quiet than those, more recent, facing the swimm...
