My wife and I stayed here for two nights during the Celtic Colours Music Festival in October. The house and room were spic and span. We had an opening window and wi-fi, two comfortable beds and a nice private bathroom. Breakfast was provided at our host's other property a few doors down the street in the pleasant dining room of another inn. It was fantastic, as was the dinner we ate there. There's somebody special in this kitchen. Lots of chat with the other guests here, as we like to do at B&Bs. Price was the best of our 21 day trip to NS. We will be back; already missing the German apple pancakes, yoghurt, OJ, and coffee. Thanks to Beate, our friendly host.

Room Tip: The Marina room was excellent.

My husband and I stayed here one night and found it to be a very nice lodging. We used the phone to contact the owner and she came immediately to show us around and chat about the area. The well furnished room had everything we needed with some nice touches like shelving in the bathroom and a hair-dryer and wi-fi. There was even a refrigerator and microwave for guest use in the downstairs gathering room. The bedding was very comfortable and clean. With the breakfast included in the rate we thought this was a great bargain in lodging.

We stayed at this little B&B on our way to hike the Cabot Trail. Our experience here was a bit different than at other B&B's where we've stayed, but pleasant nonetheless. Currently there is no innkeeper on premises (she owns several properties), so the B&B does lack the warmth and personal touch of other locations. The facility is clean and comfortable, however. Breakfast is just a short walk down the road. I would stay here again if St. Peter's were a stop on my itinerary.

Room Tip: If the weather is warm, stay in the room downstairs or, if upstairs on the back of the building as t...

Having read "webgrazer's" review 2 day's before, we were somewhat concerned, so I sent an email stating we would be late in arriving, was everything ok? The day of our arrival I had heard nothing so, my phone not working, I used the hotel phone where we were staying. A brusque woman came on the phone, hardly speaking clearly I could barely make her out but heard the word McDonald's and house booked. Somewhat bewildered we left, we had a 2 hr + journey, we were going kayaking, then when done another 2hr + journey. We arrived just after 7.00pm to find windows wedged open and the place obviously uninhabited. We found the McDonald Country Inn at the end i the road. No one answered the bell x 3 attempts, message there to say ring a number but we didn't have a phone. Eventually I went into the restaurant and found someone. Long story short, told only option, they had a room if we wanted it. Where else could we go? prepaid unfortunately and too late. Steak terrible, comment, yes I can see, breakfast ok. Would not stay there again. Question, why were we not told brforehand, if since July??

Room Tip: Don't bother

When we arrived at the B&B we found a note with a telefonenumber at the front door. Because the door was open we were able to use the phone inside. After a few minutes a woman (not the owner) arrived and showed us our reserved room. She told us breakfast will be at 8 the next morning. We wanted to pay with credit card an had to follow the woman to another B&B which also belongs to the owner at the end of the street. The rest of the day we have not seen anybody except two other guests. The next morning at 8 we went down for breakfast. There were a kitchen and a dining room in the ground floor of the house, but: nobody was there. The other two guests were also there and wondered why there was no breakfast served. The woman said to me: it is quite strage here. The house is open all day and nobody is here except the guests. We made a phonecall to the known number and they told us: breakfast is served at the other B&B at the end of the street. Nobody told us about that. And it was no misunderstanding!! This B&B ist like a motel or hotel. It is very impersonal.
Even though room, bathroom und breakfast were good we would not come back again.

Arrived for the stay we'd booked three months prior and the innkeeper was in Sydney - someone tracked her down for us. We were told (1) property flooded; emergency, (2) under renovation, (3) they weren't booking this year, (4) she hadn't been able to reach us to cancel - that would be via email, phone AND postal address and three months lead time?! They asked for proof that we had actually booked - which I had with me.

We were sent down the road to rooms to the MacDonald Country Inn that she stated she also owned, and that they were in the process of rennovating - adequate, but not a B&B, and overlooking cinder parking lots and a main road - hot and noisy; no AC and one window lacked the mechanism for opening. St Peter's is too remote to take a chance, so not knowing the area we stayed. It felt very much like bait-n-switch - they wanted payment that night and then asked a second time in the morning, and they were reluctant to disclose what was in the area - "we serve dinner here".

Room Tip: I wouldn't take a chance on this place.

My wife an I stayed here for one night last summer while on our way to Dundee. We enjoyed our stay so much, we decided to stay again on our way back. Every aspect of our two one-night stays exceeded our expectations. The room and rest of the house were kept to an impeccable standard, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the owners were overly friendly. Wifi internet worked fine throughout our stay. We plan to visit Cape Breton again this summer and will certainly stay here again. Highly recommended, you wont be disappointed.
