A great campsite with amazing views of the sunset over the sea. A very good on site restaurant. Check out the website for prices, as they increase in peak season. All the staff were very friendly and helpful

Moved to this site having spent 7 days on the Med.
A well maintained and clean camp site.Facilities were of a high standard - as one would expect from Yelloh.
Pitches not well defined and some would be too small/tight for larger motorhomes.
Site is on the beach but you have quite a climb back to your pitch.
Also adjacent to a magnificent dune complex - we believe the largest in Europe.(Grande Dune de Pyla) Do try to walk these - you will not be disappointed.
Very good on site restaurant - overlooking the bay. Booking recommended. Try to be there for the sunsets - unmissable.
Great cycle tracks in the area .
Reception very helpful.
Bus service from outside site however not too regular.

Plenty of shade, quiet campsite in June, some pitches are small others much bigger. One section of the campsite has a lovely sea view but difficult enough to get a good spot, as it is so popular, plus quite windy and cooler in the evening. We picked another section, nicely sheltered from the evening wind.

Access to the beach is easier than neighbouring campsite, but the climb back from the beach to the campsite is still very steep. I would not chance it with very young kids.

Wash blocks could be cleaned more often, not 4 star standard there. Good restaurants/ pizzeria. We were very annoyed one evening when we wanted to grab a take away pizza at 8.00 pm and they had stopped serving them at that time.... Come on!
Good small supermarket, nice fruits and bread, good selection of wines too.

Plenty of activity areas for kids. Big, pleasant pool area.
One of the restaurants has a beautiful panorama, very pleasant in the evening and nice food.

One downside for us: campsite is quite far from supermarkets/ villages. Around 15 mns drive to anything. 30 mns drive from Arcachon. Not much to see in the area once you have seen Arcachon and the dune. Good spot for a few days not for a long stay in my opinion. We felt quite isolated and got bored quickly. You are surrounded by pine trees for miles and miles. One last thing, the campsite is very popular for people who are into paragliding.

This was the fist camp site we (Me and my Girlfriend) stayed at on a 2 week road trip round France. We wish it had been the last one too! We booked a pitch on our way, just as we got off the Ferry (Did I mention this was last minute) Very helpful over the phone and spoke good English.
On arrival the reception were polite, friendly and again spoke English well, Our attempts at French failed.
We got taken round the site on a golf buggy to chose our pitch. This was nice as some sites you just get given a pitch and its harder to change. We picked a nice pitch just above the restaurant, looking through the trees to the see, The sun set right out in front of us. The pitch was plenty large enough even with our big 8 man tent and we had lots of space to sit out front. We could park the Car right by the tent. We used an electrical hook up and there were plenty situated near us to choose from.
The wash rooms felt new, large, light and clean, We had no issues at all. Hot water was always there, and there was always showers free. Take your own Toilet paper, not because there wasnt any, but it was of the cheaper kind. but as your camping i presume this will be packed! Washing up facilities were great and even though the site was very busy we never had to wait.
On site facilities -
These were great, the shop was of a good size and had everything you needed A large chest freezer could be used to re freeze cool blocks. It was also reasonably priced unlike some camp site shops. We did not eat at the restaurant or the pizza bar, but both were busy and the food looked great.
We spent a lot of time on the beach, its a 10min walk down to the beach, its not far but its steep waling down. It feels a lot harder getting back up! Id recommend taking everything you want down, as you dont want to make the trip up to many times! The beach itself is beautiful, endless we never felt crowded, the water was nice and warm. The sea does become deep but if you stay within the first 5m its fine to play in.
The pool area was lovely, very clean and with plenty of beds about. great kids pool and water slide which seeemed to have an endless stream of children running circuits.
The Dune its self is amazing, it will probably be a 20 - 25 min walk to the top and id recommend going up to the top to watch the sun set with a glass of wine and a blanket. Dont forget your torch for the way back.
all in all we stayed 4 nights but wish it could have been longer. Great family camp site, it was lovely in the evenings, the resturant and bar shut about 10ish? from memory, so no issues with noise. Would be happy to go back again!

Stayed with my wife and two babies. The view from almost all the pitches was outstanding. We felt it was excellent value with all pitches the same price, free electricity and free under 3y. Really nice pool and playground with free bouncy castle. Only negative a steep walk down the dune to the beach. The on site resturaunt is expensive but its fine dining and the price would be ok for what they offer. They also do take away pizza.

Stayed here whilst cycling the Eurovelo1
Not a good choice as the cost is extortionate if you are a) lone b)not usong all the facilities
C)not particlarly wanting a view of a large dune
Cost was for a small pitch felt claustrophobic amongst lots of tents and trees. It was however flat and clean. There are plenty of choice for eating though again overpriced if yo have transport you can go into. Town for eating. Small very expensive supermarket on site. Creperies and a pool. Be warnd that it is a very long walk up hill from the beach as most of the pitches are at the top of the dunes in the wooded area.

You need to look very hard to spot the Yelloh! label wrapped around the lamppost. The site is difficult to find when you arrive in the evening. A Yelloh! flag outside the main entrance would help because satnav does not locate the site. Route de Biscarrosse is a long road and you need sharp eyes to spot the camp entrance. We hired a cabin (Pina no. 20) which was just adequate for us as two adults and a teenage daughter. To get onto the beach you climb down the dune. Very steep and I cannot recommended the access for families with small children.
There are great swimming facilities onsite but the sauna was cold, I guess switched off to save power. The site can be noisy (until 2am some nights) due to the nightly karaoke. If you are a light sleeper and like it quiet be sure you book a cabin/pitch well away from the bar/pool area.

On site shop = expensive. Local supermarkets are nearby including Aldi at Teste whre the usual bargain fare can be had.
small melon = 4 euros
Pizzas on site for takeaway 12 euros.
This could be an expensive holiday if you have children.

Wifi is a joke here. Your patience will be seriously tested by the on-off connection and the very low data rate throttled at some 140 k/bs. You will be charged 19 euros a week for this privilege. Wifi at this price needs to be a quality service. There is no administrator on site so be prepared to struggle with getting connected. The main problem being that you have to log in on the sites router webpage with password and username and because the wifi connection is lousy the webpage drops out frequently and you have to login all over again, many times during a weeks stay. V annoying!

When you leave at the end of your stay make sure the cabin is spotless. Sweep out all traces of sand and don't leave anything in the fridge, as we tend to do for the maid. We felt sure that the cabin would not be cleaned by the site staff before the next letting. I guess this is the French way of doing things. We were not told about this when booking. There is an optional cleaning charge of 60 euros if they need to send someone with a broom and a cleaning cloth (20 mins. work at most)
You will not be able to leave the site at the end of your stay unless the cabin is cleaned.

An enjoyable stay but there is room for improvement. Please be warned that this is not a quiet site

Room Tip: Take accommodation as far away from the pool/bar area as possible. This is a noisy site until 1- 2a...
