Well, we went on a rainy day and had a good time. We didn't see any other visitors the whole time we were there. It cost 4 Euros each to visit.
There are several rooms, each made up of a replica of a local craftsman's workspace, with artefacts to touch or just view. At each display there are motion sensors that set off recordings of sounds associated with each place. All the signage is naturally in French but there is lots of information in English, as well as a couple of other languages, that you can pick up in each room.
There's also a whole section on the castle, including replicas of the best castle artefacts, a great model and more info about Puivert. Outside there's a garden and some other themed objects to view.
There are toilets too. But there are also a lot of steps. They had space for us to leave our buggy inside at the reception. The postcards, at 50 cents each are slightly cheaper than in the general store. There's a range of gifts in the shop. Our favourite being a little flute that makes a sound like a cuckoo.
