Very comfortable, clean single room in a good price. Quiet and safe area. A restaurant and a bar, a parking lot. In a good position to walk to Portogruaro which is a perfect place to make a breake in a journey.

In spite of the high ratings, this hotel lives up to its four star reputation in most respects. It was nicely decorated, clean, though a bit cramped in the rooms.

But the service left a lot to be desired in several respects:
- Staff were generally not particularly friendly. They tended to be abrupt when we asked questions, showed their impatience and frustration. And why do they want to hold on to our passports over night? Every other hotel simply takes a photocopy.
- We got no help or suggestions when we wanted a bite to eat during the siesta
- When we tried to enter the dining room before it was supposed to open, we were simply told it was closed and had to inquire when it was supposed to open (we ended up eating elsewhere)
- But the worst was the morning we left, when we were rudely shown into a separate dining area for "bicyclists," with a lousy selection, communal dining, and no discernible effort to bus the tables or replenish the buffet.

Nice and comfortable rooms, very helpful and efficient staff (when we were there last summer my husband needed an ophthalmologist, and despite ferragosto there was one found within an hour or two!), pleasant ambience. Excellent a la carte restaurant with seasonal delicacies - we had snails, asparagus, capesante, cappelonghe, etc., reasonable prices. Also excellent choice of oils and wines.

Clean and compact room, bathroom in very good condition, good choice at breakfast, homely lounge, payable wi-fi, cafe style bar, restaurant food and wine of excellent quality my only one negative comment is that the dining staff could be more welcoming and not so stand-offish.
Small village location good range of clothes shops, locals friendly, large local Market Thursday.
Would recommend

I arrived at Hotel Spessotto quite angry. It seems that they are on a one-way street that the city recently decided to keep as a one-way street – in the other direction!!! To get there, I drove on the sidewalk, much to the anger on many church-goers.

It’s pretty hard to be happily impressed immediately upon arrival when there is steam coming out of your ears, but Spessotto is beautiful. Flat out: everything had the look and feel of a hotel 2-3 times as expensive. The bed, Furniture and Bathroom were very nice and the hotel lobby is better than most. Parking is good if you don’t have the wrong GPS trying to make you go the wrong way. There seemed to be plenty of life around the hotel, but it was just a transition stopover for me, so I didn’t get out.

Room Tip: Don't use an out-dated GPS to get there.

We have stayed in this hotel 3 different times in the last 5 years as we have family in a nearby town. The rooms are very nice and location is terrific for walking around the town. The wifi is reliable. Elisabetta at the front desk is very nice and even offered a bottle of water when we checked out knowing we had a long drive ahead. The breakfast has many, many choices.

Room Tip: Selecting a singe room actually means single. The bed will be twin bed.

Our family of 4 stayed at Hotel Spessotto in July of 2012. Since they didn't offer any quad room we got two rooms that were adjoined which was more than adequate for our needs, and since we have 2 daughters having an extra bathroom was certainly a plus.

The hotel is located smack dab in the middle of this quaint little town, and virtually everything is within walking distance. Breakfast was served in the downstairs bar/restaurant and provided us with everything that we could want for breakfast: cheese, meats, bread, eggs, fresh fruit and juices, and pastries. A large breakfast like that carried us through until dinner time.

Our only complaint was with the internet - although the hotel has wifi we found that as soon as we stopped using our devices, we were almost immediately logged out, which required us to be constantly logging back in. Other than that minor inconvenience, we found the hotel rooms very clean, albeit rather small.
