“Amazing stay, little hidden treasure!”
Reviewed 2 February 2013

We have just returned from staying at wilsham farm. The room was very beautiful, extremely comfortable (had a fab nights sleep) and pristinely clean! The owner Richard was so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. The farm is set in beautiful landscapes with lovely views over exmoor. We will definitely be visiting again! Good location and so peaceful! Fantastic!

We (family of 9) stayed at Wilsham house over the christmas period and had a fantastic time. There are both positives and negatives at the house. Fantastic location, we loved the pool, but it was a bit chilly for most of the family. The main living room was really cosy (not keen on the wood burner, it was very smelly) and it had enough seating for all but to be honest even though I am not much of a TV addict, the TV is too small for lots of people to watch together, which we wanted to do some evenings. The dining room attached to the kitchen was fantastic. The bedrooms were very nice, most being fairly large but be aware there is not a room with lots of single beds, they are in the upstairs passage, which we found a little odd, although groups of children might like it. The beds are on the hard side but I am definately a princess and the pea sort and like a very soft comfortable bed. All in all good place for a large family to relax. We met Richard whilst we were there and he was very friendly and very accomodating. We were happy to be left alone but knew he was there if needed.

We have just returned from a great 2 night stay at the B&B. I can only reinforce the positive comments already mentioned. The wonderful breakfasts(you won't need any lunch!)need an extra mention as does the fantastic location. You are in the middle of the moor,we were even lucky enough to see and hear the deer when Richard took us out personally to locate them. We have stayed in various B&B's on Exmoor but I think this will be a definate favourite,we have already booked our next visit for 2013!

Room Tip: The stags rest has a fantastic view.

I visited Wilsham house (self catering) on the weekend and enjoyed it immensely! I visited with many friends (19 in total) and was balled over by how much the owner bent over backwards for us (especially as he had an injured back). Easy to find although it could be missed if lacking in concentration. I had such an amazing weekend and have made very special memories that i will cherish always, Thank you sooooo much, we will be seeing you again soon.

Just thought I would drop a few lines after a smashing wknd at Wilsham Farm House. I had booked the annex and another pair of rooms in the main farm to accommodate the 20 (2 pulled out at the last minute) of us that went. At the end of a long very narrow lane lay the farm complex. Plenty of room for parking we were met by the owner Richard. Very accommodating from the start he just left us 2 it, he gave us a very quick and pain free run down of the place, shown us how to use the pool and said 'enjoy, you know where I am If you need anything'. And that was that, very trusting.

The property itself had great spacious rooms for all the couples and there were no complaints from anyone. Top tip, if you have a young one think twice about sleeping above or below the main living room, the floors are creaky and it can be loud if you're in a boisterous group.

Also there was a vey strange corridor type room that resembled an army barracks, not really a room but random beds placed end on end along a wall. I thought this might be a problem but the kids loved it even more for its unique quirkiness. The kitchen had more than enough utensils to make meals for all 18 and a long huge communal dining table we all sat round for meals. It was a great area for chatting and playing evening board games. Lots of chairs in the large living room again made it easy for the grown ups to congregate once the kids had gone to bed.

The jewel in the crown though was the superb pool, big and warm and the kids were left in pool heaven.

All in all, superb value for money, very country and homely, rooms for all family types, fantastic pool and set in beautiful countryside. Absolutely no complaints from one of us. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Wilsham Farm from 9th until 13th Sept . It was everything we wanted from a short stay break. Our bedroom was lovely with the added addtion every day to the tea tray of homemade flap jacks which were lovely and moist. The breakfast was just fantastic including the special fruit and homemade bread. Our host Richard was such an interesting, comical man with so many true stories under his belt how could anyone be miserable (even on a rainy day)? We would definately like to return. Thank you Richard and Jane for everything.
