We visited Cairns to spend time with family for Christmas, and Jungara was the perfect base to rest and recharge our batteries each day after busy days of catching up with family. The frangipani room we stayed in for six nights, was comfortable, spacious and a delight to retreat to each day. The peaceful acreage setting and beautiful surrounding gardens were a pleasure, enjoyed particularly over breakfast on the verandah. Breakfast is thoughtfully presented, in particular, the tropical fruit platter with an array of fruits to suit every palate. To top off the memorable experience, are the welcoming and friendly hosts Kim and Marilyn - thankyou for sharing your piece of paradise with us.

We stayed 3 nights here and had a lovely time in Cairns. It was like a home away from home. There is a kitchenette, dinning and lounging area overlooking the surrounding hills in the background. The neighbourhood is quiet and is perfect for those looking to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

We had it booked through Umfulana and also didn't check it out on the net, so we got completely surprised. And that in the best ways. Kim and Marilyn, the hosts greated us heartily and showed us around. It's a little paradise.
We would have loved to stay longer than two nights and we would gladly come back.
We can recommend this place to the fullest.
again a big thank you to Kim!

Jungara was lovely. Near town but such a wonderful rural natural setting. Kim and Marilyn are great folk. Lovely fresh fruit continental breakfast was laid out each morning. One of the dogs would come looking for us in the morning to check we were coming out for breakfast. Lovely decking outside the room was a great place to enjoy some wine, cheese, and pate' we picked up in town. Full kitchen and bbq are available if you are so inclined. Very inviting pool was great after a long hot day of touring. You will need a car when staying here if you want to do much of anything. The train station to Kuranda is really really close by. Unfortunately the cable car to Kuranda was not running the day we wanted to go because of a storm the day before.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms would be just fine.

Spent 4 nights here ,really peaceful and the hosts were great, helpful without being intrusive. We really liked the Cairns area Karunda is a must visit excellent stay. Went to the Barrier reef on Quicksilver long trip to get there I would only recommend going if you are into snorkeling or diving and even then not loads of time once you are there. If you love diving I would take a trip that just caters for this only.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Jungara B&B near Cairns end of August/beginning of September 2013.
The hosts Kim and Marilyn are very nice and helpful. Not to forget the two wonderful dogs. If you want, play with them, they love it. If you don't want, they won't disturb you - very well educated.
The room (Frangipani) is very nicely decorated and has a wonderful wooden floor. Everything is extremely clean and comfortable. The only thing we did not like that much is the fact, that is has only a queensize bed and not a kingsize one. I told that to Kim when he asked me if everything was alright.
The breakfast is a wonderful thing in the morning - I will never forget the fresh fruit platter - yes: platter! You will enjoy it. Everything is ready for you in the big kitchen which maybe used by all guests in the three rooms.
If you need any bookings for tours, please don't hesitate to ask Kim about it - he helped us right away and booked the Kuranda experience.
The room is self contained, so be prepared to make your bed and ask for new towels if you need them.
The B&B is in Redlynich, a short drive from Cairns airport or from Cairns "Downtown", so it is not so much recommended for people which have not a (rented) car. But the area is just lovely, you can smell the rainforest and listen to singing birds. A very big garden and a saltwater pool, a nice neighbourhood and peace at night - we enjoyed that instead of the "night scene" in Cairns itself. And if you want to walk to have dinner - go to the Red Baret - a good old pub only ten minutes away in a very safe area.
We enjoyed our time in Jungara very much, and the fact, that it costs not as much as some other places, is another plus for this paradise near Cairns.Thank you, Kim and Marilyn!

Room Tip: All three rooms are very nice and have the same size and quality. We had the Frangipani Room at the...
