The main building (housing reception and the bar/restaurant) is architecturally impressive and truly stunning and the golf course / grounds are beautiful. I enjoyed a corner room on the second floor in an annex farthest from reception. There was a car park near the building, but there were still several flights of up/down stairs to reach the room. However, I benefited from a beautiful view of the golf course and grounds. The room is modest although relatively large by European standard, with a petite bathroom. There is no en-suite air conditioning, but open windows let in plenty of fresh air. In room WiFi was good. The breakfast buffet was well presented and had all the usual offerings, including (on Fridays only I believe) a waffle / omelette station.

This is a sprawling hotel with lots of stairs. A room on a higher floor might offer a better view of the grounds. Do not bring luggage into main reception; check in first and determine where room is located and park accordingly. This will save carrying luggage through many hallways and stairs.

Room Tip: This is a sprawling hotel with lots of stairs. A room on a higher floor might offer a better view of...

Just stayed on a Sun/Mon golf society break. First the plus points , excellent bedrooms, great food , dead helpfull porter who helped with our cases . Both golf courses were good , Minus points , whoever designed the new extension to link the old priory to the bedrooms and golf bar needs shooting , its like an assult course, upstairs , downstairs , along corridors , upstairs , downstairs. Bentley Bar has enough seating for about 12 people but not together and the golf / sports bar is made up of 2 small rooms with an odd assortment of chairs, tables and sofa's, none of which allow for more than 6 people to sit together. Both rooms useless for a golf society when other hotel guests and society's are about , we ended up split between the 2 bars. The spa looked good but the non golfers complained that there were only 4 loungers poolside to use when not swimming.
We won't be rushing back.

Room Tip: Get a porter to take your cases to the room , it's a trek and a half.

We stayed with friends over the bank holiday weekend to celebrate two milestone birthdays.
The hotel is perfect, set in the most amazing grounds.
The men tried both golf courses, while we enjoyed ourselves in the spa and pool.
We had treatments on the Sunday and I can honestly say that it was the best facial I have ever had . We followed this by a lovely afternoon tea in the Priory restaurant .
We chose this hotel from the Marriott website and after reading reviews, the only thing I can say is that the website does not do this hotel justice . Give it a try you wont be disappointed !
In addition my husband discovered he had lost his wallet on our return home.
I called the hotel and the following afternoon Maxine rang me to say it had been found . She returnded the wallet to us by recorded delivery and would not hear of us paying the costs , Excellent service !
We look forward to planning another trip to Breadsall soon

Room Tip: Ask for 170 , overlooking the 18th hole

Just returned from our daughters wedding at this marvelous hotel complex. The organisation of every detail was superb and nothing was to much trouble for the staff, particularly Kyle the master of ceremonies, who deserves a special mention for his hard work in making the day perfect for the Bride and Groom.

The food was excellent and the service smooth and efficient. the breakfast buffet in our own private dining room was plentiful and tasty. he rooms are functional rather than luxurious and my wife was a little disappointed that our room had a view of a brick wall, when there were so many fantastic views from other guests rooms.

The second day was spent in the leisure facilities and Tempo bar. The pool, steam room and sauna made for a very welcome break from the busyness of the previous day. Unfortunately the service in the Tempo bar was not as efficient or friendly as we had experienced the previous day, we seemed to be an inconvenience to the staff and there were long waits for drinks to be delivered and drinks missed from orders. Some staff were quite surly when challenged on mistakes.

This aside I am still giving 5/5 as all together my daughter and son-in-law had the most marvelous time thanks to Kyle and his staff putting in so much hard work. Thank you

We have just had the most wonderful weekend at Breadsall Priory for our daughters wedding. From the moment we arrived the Hotel and spa staff could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble, all of our family and friends who stayed agreed with us. You cannot better the location for wedding photographs, we have just received the proofs and we are going to have difficulty in choosing our favourites the gardens and priory looked spectacular. We would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone looking for a wedding venue.

This was our 3rd time staying at this hotel and once again we were not disappointed. Excellent staff ! Our room was spot on , the food in the restaurant amazing. The pool area was clean etc. Since our last visit 18 months ago most areas have had a paint job and it looks bright and clean. There is a nice area to walk round the grounds which are well kept. We are not golfers but the golf facilities seem very popular. Cant wait to visit again thank you Breadsall!!!

Just returned from a 2 night stay with friends ,this hotel is set in beautiful grounds, the priory has a modern extension, but which ever part of the hotel you go through, the staff are very helpful and friendly. We had a lovely room over looking the 18th hole, which was great to watch the golfers coming home.our men played golf, while we took advantage of the spa and afternoon tea.
To be honest although the hotel looks very nice on the web site, this does not do it justice as the whole setting and hotel is so much more.
Will defiantly be going back.
