“Fabulous afternoon tea party”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

I booked Morley Retreat Tearooms for afternoon tea, for a group of 14 in the Chinese room. The food, atmosphere and service were all just perfect and everyone really enjoyed it. We had a wide range of interesting and tasty sandwiches (e.g. brie and caramelised onion; hummus and carrot; ham and tomato); wide choice of teas; melt in the mouth chocolate cake; mouth-watering lemon drizzle and scones with jam and cream that drew a gasp from our tea enthusiasts.
An intimate, fun, informal and relaxing treat that I would thoroughly recommend.

“Not great welcome, but glad we stayed.”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

Just stepped inside the door and felt like turning round and leaving. 'We're very busy you know' not sure if we were welcome, or wanted us to help out.
But we found a table in one of the eating areas and were happy to find the front dining area very pleasant.
The same young lady took our order. The jacket potatoes we had were great, tasty and priced at £5.50.
The menu is very limited.. Jacket potatoes. Toasties, afternoon tea and cakes.
But if your just wanting that, then go don't think you'll be disappointed.
Glad we stayed.
There is one bench outside with built in table.
And the other dining room is at the back of the house. Has kitchen feel to it but comfortable.
There is also a sitting room which is nice if you want just a coffee and to relax in an easy settee.
Lovely place in very peaceful area. (Mostly ladies who lunch there)
The rooms are furnished with period decor and very restful.
