“Loved our stay............”
Reviewed 10 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

My partner and I spent 7 nights at this cosy, refurbished, stone cottage - had all the amenities you would want; and refurbished to a good standard. Used it as a base to explore the Hidden Kingdom of Northumberland and easy reach for Hadrian's Wall, Kielder Observatory - night with the stars, local pubs, great river walks on your doorstep and explored amazing coastline - beautiful area and lovely village of Wark - friendly locals and would recommend Hexham House Cottage - only missed having a garden to chill out in............and a wardrobe in the bedroom would have been useful!

“Relaxing”
Reviewed 14 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Just come back from a few wonderful days here. The cottage was beautiful and it was nice to stop in a cottage that had been furnished and put together well.
The location was extremely nice and you could take a lovely walk straight from the door, the village had lovely people and nice local amenities.
I would recommend staying here to anyone I know and we are already planning our next stay to relax and rejuvenate again.

We absolutely loved this cottage. It has been beautifully restored and every comfort is provided. The owners were so helpful and welcoming. Wark is a lovely village with nice pubs and great walks along the river. We used it as a based for Kielder winter wonderland and was ideal. We couldn't recommend this enough.

“Perfect for exploring 'Hidden Northumberland'”

My Partner and I stayed at Hexham House Cottage in March as a birthday treat for myself. What a beautiful place, which is a credit to the owners who have finished the Property to an extremely high standard. We used the Cottage as a base to explore Northumberland and take advantage of the dark skies in order to photograph the Northern Lights.

The interior is neutrally decorated with authentic wooden beams adorning the ceilings but the main feature is the Wood Burner which really keeps you warm on a cool evening. The high standard of decor travels upstairs to the bedroom and en-suite with exposed roof struts and subtle lighting. Even though the Cottage is situated on the 'main road' in Wark there is hardly any noise from passing traffic. There are a couple of pubs in the area, Battlesteads and the Grey Bull both selling fine Ales and Beers.

We travelled up to Bellingham to visit Hareshaw Linn which is a 30 metre waterfall at the end of a 3km walk. We saw Red Squirrels, Tree Creepers and a multitude of wildlife. We also visited Sycamore Gap, High Force and Hexham, a historic Market town.

I would highly recommend visiting Hexham House Cottage as a weekend break or a week long stay.

“Superb, tranquil home from home cottage”

A beautiful, tranquil cottage, renovated to an exceptionally high standard. Set back off the road with private parking the cottage has everything you need for a break away from home. Good location in a quiet village - local butchers; small but well stocked shop & a couple of pubs that serve homemade food. There are plenty of places to visit nearby including a beautiful river within walking distance. The owners have retained a lot of the cottages original features including a beautiful Inglenook fireplace with log burning fire for those cosy nights in. The cottage has full kitchen facilities, a stunning new bathroom - shower no bath and free WiFi. We're already booked in for our next visit & are looking forward to it very much. A great base for touring the area by day and relaxing at night.
