5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2011

A couple of friends and I spent two nights at the Lodge. We started our stay with a great outdoor dinner by the fire. One of my friend saw 4 of the big 5 during the morning drive into Kruger! We also spent a lot of time in the terrace with bush stories told by our great hosts, Annette and Tim. I had been a couple of times at the Kruger area, but this by far was the best!

Wonderful location with an amazing view over Crocodile River. Very friendly staff! A big thank you to our guide Werner, who spent most of the day with us, showing us the beautiful landscape and giving us the best information about Kruger and its animals that we could ever get. We fully recommend that place to stay!

We spent a delightful three nights at this comfortable lodge. The staff goes out of its way to provide what you need. For us they arranged a couple of game drives with their resident ranger/guide into Kruger. And they also arranged a tiger fishing trip. The biggest plus for us was the accomodating nature of owner Annette and Werner, the ranger/ guide.

We´ve spent 3 days with Tim & Annette at their lodge: Bushwise Safaris.
The attention was just great. Meals were really home made and delicious.
We´ve made 3 safaris: one during the night (amazing) and the other 2 during the day.
Rick, our guide was awesome!
We had the chance to see so many different animals!
During the dinner we usually shared our experiences and sights with our host.
I can strongly recommend to take a Safari tour with Bushwise team.

My friends and I (all Southamericans) had the most wonderful experience in the Bushwise Lodge. We only had a day an a half to live the safari experience and thanks to Tim, Annette, Peter and Rick we had an amazing time.

Though we had very little time, we saw the wildlife that we were expecting to find and more. Having Rick as our guide was superb because not only he took us to the places were we could see the animals very close (lions 2 metters away from the car!!!!) and surrounded by beautiful scenery, but he complemented the ride with interesting information and real-life anecdotes. Excellent!!!

Tim and Annette were incredible as hosts, the food was really nice, the facilities were great, the view from the lodge was already special before starting our safary journey. We only regret not having better cameras to have taken better photos of what we were experiencing.

I would strongly recommend to anyone this lodge and the homey environment it offers to the visitors.

I spent three nights and it seemed to go in the blink of an eye. Kruger National Park is an absolutely incredible place and Bushwise Safaris really made the most of it. Did a night drive where you use spotlights to find wildlife, full day in the park where we saw the big five, including cheetah and rhino, and then a bush walk which had an amasing atmosphere. We really got lucky!

The accommodation itself was perfect, very tasteful and in keeping with the stunning location alongside the river. The infinity pool next to the bar on the balcony was an added bonus!

I would highly recommend Bushwise Safaris (and already have) to friends and family.

Bushwise is in a lovely location, with views across the Crocodile River. We saw a herd of 40 elephants from the pool deck. It sits in Marloth Park where Zebra, Impala, Kudu and Warthogs roam freely - often into the garden - along with some monitor lizards. The bird life is most interesting, and we also saw a hippo with a week old calf on an island in the river. Although it overlooks the Kruger, it is about 30 mins on dirt roads from the CR gate into the Kruger Park.

We had fantastic service - although we were the only guests at the time. The full-time guide, Dylan, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The rooms were comfortable and there was a great bar area and pool deck fronting on to the river.

Evening meal - served in a traditional Boma enclosure - was ample and tasty. Breakfast was also good. However, at R170 pppn (excursions extra) it was not cheap.
