Everything was great about Bushwise. The hosts made everyone feel very welcome. Food was home cooked & very good. The lodge overlooks Kruger Park. Saw elephants by the river. Their guide for the trip into the park was excellent.

we spend 4 days at Bushwise as part of our honeymoon, the experience was fabulous indeed. the entire Bushwise staff are very friendly from the booking to departure. Very excellent location for those who love the woods, separated by just a fence from the Kruger park , located in a bushy park with animals wondering at the lodge and the night filled with animal sounds makes Bushwise bush wise indeed. Werner , who was our guide is very knowledgeable and very considerate giving all his attention to your needs. the rooms are good. the food was excellent not to mention the dinner in the boma.

We did the 3 night/4 day special as with a group of friends and as a couple. The experience all around was fabulous--Tim and Annette are such great people, and their entire staff is definitely a reflection of that as well, which makes staying here so lovely and a unique experience. Donald was our safari guide the entire trip and he was not only incredibly knowledgeable but a lot of fun and taught us a lot about the animals we saw while we were out every day. He did a great job making sure we saw the Big Five and so many other animals. The accomodations are very comfortable and the pictures do not do the lodge justice--the views are spectacular (who doesn't like to sit in a pool with a glass of wine and watch elephants drink from the Crocodile River?!), dinner every night was held outside in their firepit area (and was delicious!), and the bar/veranda area is lovely too. A great value for everything, and definitely a very special place to spend your time. It was the highlight of our trip and we can't wait to go back in the future!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Crocodile River!! You will get to see elephants and other animals com...

After celebrating my big bash , we took to the bush to spend some quality family time as just a family

Of the x 4 days we stayed at the lodge, the actual day of my 50th some two days later

Tim, Annette and the manager/ game ranger (Werner) all joined my family and I, for a drink and chat, with some lovely Champaign and birthday cake, which they too kindly provided

The rooms upstairs and the local bar/ communal are worth the view and very relaxing same time

Whilst we only got to see 4 of the Big Five , witnessing a croc take an impala, from the waters edge , was hard to believe , as to what we just witnessed as it was all over in 5 second with no sign of the croc and poor impala , as if it was a type of magic illusion

Fantastic people all round and the game drives are worth the early morning getting up

Definitely on the cards for a revisit ,and to see our wonderful friends again at Bushwise

Congrats again to Annette who came in the top three, in the lady's division, in a mountain bike competition whilst we were there

Room Tip: anywhere upstairs for the view or ask for the room with the only bath downstairs if you want to soak...

This is a good starting point for safaris in the Kruger park. The lodge in itself is located in an other park next to the Kruger park, with its own wild animals who lives in the forest around the houses. That means very nice evenings when you can hear frogs and perhaps some hippo in the Crocodile creek.

The lodge arrange different kinds of safaris, mainly into the Kruger Park. The lodge have their own guides. I had a guide who was very knowledgeable.

Our 1st safari was in 2008, and we stayed at Bushwise Safaris, where we were treated exceptionally well. The lodging is beautiful, and tucked up next to Kruger National Park. We saw lions, giraffe, zebra, cape buffalo, and more right from the deck on our 1st visit (not so much on the 2nd)! When we were able to return to South Africa in 2013, there was no question that we would return to Bushwise. The owners (Tim & Annette) and staff made us truly welcome again. And our safari guide (Werner) was knowledgeable, FUN to be with, and tracked the animals with ease! We could not have asked for a better safari vacation! Thank you Bushwise! We'll be back!

Room Tip: All the existing rooms were fantastic, and they were adding a new building when we left.

Hi Dianne,
It was great having you here again, it felt like family visiting. And you are right, I think Werner has the phone numbers of all the animals to make appointments before he takes our guests on safari :-)
We're expecting our new development to be completed in the beginning of November. We will then have 7 rooms at Bushwise - big enough to accommodate a group or family, but still small enough to keep it cosy and personal. On your next visit we will book you in one of our new luxury rooms.
Tim and Werner also send their fondest regards to you, Steve, and the rest of the group.
Until next time then...
Annette
