“Excellent Pasties”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 December 2013 via mobile

Both the beef and vegetable pasties are very good. We ordered salad and wedges but didn't expect the salad to include couscous and potato salad - we ordered too much as a result. Home made ketchup and BBQ sauce is stocked on the tables which went really well with the lunch. Service was a little slow but the wait was worth it. Some might find the pasties a little dry but that's what the sauces are for!

“For once I`m glad I didn`t read the reviews”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 November 2013

I`m not sure I visited the same place as some of the reviewers here. We ate breakfast here twice in 3 days - a fairly good indication of the quality of the food. However what makes Riverford stand out is the attitude of the staff, helpful, knowledgeable and cheerful. A great place for breakfast, mince pies and some fantastic cheese.

We will be back.

“Always a 'must visit'”

High quality foods - very nice 'rustic' cafe with a great range to suit all tastes. Locally sourced products including excellent cheeses and great quality meat for the carnivores!

“Overpriced and disappointing”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 October 2013

We stopped here for a quick lunch and now wish we had driven on by! Having lived in Cornwall for many years (now live in France) we were keen to have a pasty for lunch. We ordered two pasties to "eat in" we also wanted them hot. If this had been the first pasty I had ever eaten in my life, I would never eat another one! The were re-heated in a microwave oven, the pastry was tough and soggy and there was only about a tablespoon of filling which lacked any form of seasoning. We were rather taken aback that we were charged extra to have them heated up as the prices seemed rather steep anyway. The service was indifferent and slow. We were so put off by our experience in the cafe that we did not bother to look around the shop. If you have never eaten a pasty and want to try one please don't eat these ones!

“Good Wholesome Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 September 2013

A few miles outside of Plymouth on the way to Kingsbridge (A379) is a great little place to stop for a bite to eat and do a little shopping at the same time. Riverford Farm Shop - provides real, local and organic food. The small café inside the main shopping area serves very good food well priced. Then after you have filled up buy some great aged local west country meat and cheeses.
