I wanted to go riding in Andalucia, as I love pets and animals. I've been on a horse before, but I didn't know how to do it correctly.
By chance I found the El Galope Riding School. (You can find it, when you turn right at the roundabout where Lidl is, in Sabinillas, go straight, pass the Sunday market place, go straight on till you see the sign of El Galope, just a few 100m before the Roman Oasis Restaurant. Take a turn to the right, down and up a hill and you are there.)
I felt immediately comfortable and the guys were really friendly and helpful.
I got an appointment with Samantha for my first ride just a few days later.
Samantha is an angel. She is such a warmhearted person and we got along immediacies. We first cleaned the horses, just to get used to the horse and the horse gets a bit warmed up to us.
She then showed me how to saddle up and told me that I will soon be able to do it myself.
First she helped me in the saddle and it was a great feeling being on a horse. There are 5 horses, and I've got the white Pony Dora, which is the best for beginners.
Sam showed me how to feel good on a horse and thought me some basics and trust exercises.
I was totally thrilled after our first appointment, which was over very fast, even if it lasted longer than one hour.
I also enjoyed spending time with the other animals on the farm. They have cats and dogs.
Since then, I've been often riding with Sam and her fiancée Nicolas. I learned how to trot, canter and finally gallop. I loved the private lessons, but my first riding out in the countryside was just amazing and so much fun, being on a horse, enjoying the beautiful landscape of Andalucia and spending time with my friend Sam.
I also had a few beach rides with fast gallop.
They really adjust the rhythm to each person. If you want to take it slow, you can just walk or trot with your horse. They take students at any ages and levels: Child, adult or senior, beginner or experienced.
They also have a Ponyclub and sometimes do events like BBQ-Sundays with homemade paella for the whole family, kids can take a turn in the manage while they parents have fun and chatting with other parents. You can go with them to the Manilva wine festival as well.
I am sure you will be happy too, riding with Dora, Spirit, Furia, Bonita or OJ. They are all very beautiful horses and good behaved.
I am really glad I've found this riding school and can recommend it 100%.
