Three of us stayed for one night, up for a speed hill climb meeting at Shelsley Walsh, and found we had chanced upon a true find. The beauty of the location and the delightful patina and feel of a sympathetically and appropriately cared-for building, which has grown organically over the centuries, speak for themselves. Of equal (or greater) importance to our enjoyment, we were most taken with the amount of thought and planning put in by Sarah and William which meant that many - most! - of the things which we'd usually have to ask for at other establishments are already provided, as were some we'd truly never have thought of in the first place! Oh yes, the food and cider are absolutely top-notch too!

Looking forward to our next visit in a month or so!

Thank you for taking the trouble to write this review - the 'laterally thinking hosts' made me laugh! I wonder if this is a reference to tradition of recycling that has gone on in the house for hundreds of years and continues with us! It was a pleasure to have you stay and I hope the Hill Climb was fun. See you soon, Sarah

We just returned from a delightful five day stay at Brook Farm Berrington. It was a perfect get away from the pressures of life and is indeed "a nice little place in the country". Being from the States, the tiny, windy road leading to Brook Farm was an interesting experience and my husband actually had to assist a wayward lamb who had gone astray back into his field. It is well worth the effort...We were greeted warmly by Sarah and her husband, Will, who showed us around the farm (2 donkeys, 3 sheep, 2 dogs, cats and a truck load of chickens which were being delivered that day) and beautiful gardens on eight acres of land. They are very helpful in pointing out areas of interest; local walks (they are situated in the midst of apple orchards which were in bloom) and attractions nearby...our favorite was the Long Mynd with stunning views of the Shropshire hills. The farmhouse itself which dates back to the 1600's is wonderful and complete with modern conveniences; Sarah's touches are everywhere....flowers in every room, welcoming natural soaps and shampoos in the bathroom and a comfy robe for the end of the day. In the morning, Sarah asks what time you would like coffee/tea brought to your room...what a nice way to wake up and then breakfast follows in the dining area. The full English breakfast is wonderful, including eggs (from the chickens) and local jams, fresh fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice....there are other breakfast selections as well. In the evening, you can relax by the fire in the guest's private sitting room and sip on Sarah's homemade Damson plum vodka...what a great way to end the day. It was a wonderful stay and hopefully a place to return to in the future.

It is rare that you feel an instant connection with somewhere in an unfamiliar area but there is no question that Brook Farm and Sarah and William produced that effect. The layout, decor and feel of the house are perfect for a romantic and totally relaxing stay. We were greeted by Sarah with tea and fluffy and delicious lemon drizzle cake which we took with us as we explored the grounds, led along grassy paths by Harry the dog. We ventured into nearby Ludlow for dinner and were too full to try Brook Farm's damson vodka or even enjoy the snug sitting room but will do next time! We slept like logs, bathed in organic, wonderful smelling toiletries and breakfasted on scrambled eggs with smoked trout - so much more subtle than smoked salmon - with homemade bread (recipe extracted from William!) and local jams. We left reluctantly and will book for a longer stay next time.

I visited the area with my partner, sadly only staying the one night but was severely tempted to revise our plans and stay a 2nd !

Sarah made us very welcome, the accommodation, location, atmosphere, menu and service are idyllic. I am so pleased we delved a little deeper and found Brook Farm, rather than staying in the local hotels. It is so much more personal, intimate and cosy

We will certainly return and feel very comfortable in recommending Brook Farm to others.

We spent two nights here and were impressed at the unobtrusive care Sarah took to make us feel welcome in their lovely home. As well as a beautiful location and an impressive standard of B and B accommodation, Sarah went the extra mile with fruit cake both days and damson vodka available in the lounge - we did a lot of walking! And Sarah even offered to provide a taxi service if we found the going too much. All in all a wonderful couple of days and we look forward to a return trip!

Thank you for your lovely review and thank you for the tip off about the little waterfall with the wood anenomes! We're so glad you had a lovely time and hope to see you again. Sorry the pillows were too soft for you which meant I didn't quite get full marks, but that is a criticism I can cope with! I will offer guests firmer ones if they'd prefer in future and will certainly remember for your return trip!! Sarah.

Came here for a weekend away with my girlfriend and we thought the place was just awesome. Lovingly restored old farmhouse but modernised in all the right ways (fantastic bathroom etc). Enough privacy to give you a romantic weekend away but great service when you needed it.

Stayed Friday and Saturday and had the ploughman's platter on arrival - definitely do the same! It's huge and the local cheeses and meats are gorgeous. Breakfast was also top notch with a good choice and ample servings. Scrambled eggs with trout is a winner!

Personal touches throughout the place made it feel like a lovely little special place, and as you're actually on a farm (you wouldn't really know it from a cottage) - it has donkeys, cats and dogs around too, which adds to the charm.

Don't usually visit places more than once but am certainly considering going again. Brilliant!

We stayed here for two nights and had a wonderful time. The place is so peaceful with a lovely spacious bedroom and a beautiful lounge too. The breakfast features local produce (own eggs and fruit, local bacon and sausages). They catered for my gluten free diet at breakfast and with our evening platter with style and ease so unlike other places we've been (and even got in some gluten free cakes for tea). The attention to detail, lovely location and warm welcome make this one of the nicest places we've ever stayed in. Looking forward to returning!
