I have been to quite a few resorts around Kanha and this was, by far, my best experience. Everything was amazing: food, rooms, nature walk, but the best part of KJL is their helpful, friendly and genuinely warm staff. This was hospitality at its best. Surreal. Thanks to Varun, Nilesh, Dimple, Tarun and Jai. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kanha national park.

We visited kanha just before Christmas. We were 2 families we had 3 rooms 17,18, 14. We arrived late in the evening after surviving the excruciating last 40 kms from Jabalpur to Kanha so we were visibly tired. We were greeted by the 2 naturalists Nilesh and Varun and a bunch of hot towels to freshen up a little bit there were also snacks and various types teas available for us to sip and relax. We were straight away shown our rooms which were very clean and spacious. At night there were hot water bottles placed on the bed to warm it up as it was very chilly. The food served to us was refreshingly different and amazing to taste being avid travellers we have been to many places in India but have found the food at most places fairly standard such was not the case here the food was well above par and was a very diverse selection. If the food was good the hospitality was even better Nilesh explained to us our trip itinerary which they had personally designed for us and Varun was our naturalist who went with us on our 2 safaris we were unlucky to not spot a tiger but that didn't matter much because the jungle experience was simply amazing. Varun had a hawkeye as he spotted lizards and owls in split second while driving. Finally I have to mention Jai the young budding naturalist it was amazing to see such a young fellow with so much knowledge and such love for nature. Our only regret was that our duration of stay was too short. We hope to plan another trip to Kanha and stay the Kanha Jungle Lodge and just enjoy the place believe me they really spoil you.

Thank You everyone at kanha jungle lodge
We hope to see you again.

A lovely lodge with very comfortable room with a massive bed. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was good to see in Jai that youngsters being encouraged in both nature and friendly service approach. The hot water bottles for those cold early morning starts on the game drives was a lovely touch. The food was good and I especially enjoyed the welcome back from the afternoon drive with the tea and snacks.

My wife and stayed here for 4 nights during our trip to Kanha. We were welcomed with hot snacks, a great choice of hot drinks and a warm welcome.
The lodge is situated close to the park entrance and a river which the lodge gardens run up to. The rooms are in a semi-circle around a fire pit / sitting area and close to the main restaurant. The rooms are simple, but comfortable - especially with a hot water bottle placed in your bed before lights out!
The food was excellent - great variety and taste, served with numerous home produced and cooked fresh breads. Upon your return from your safari you are greeted with a hot or cool towel to remove the grime and dust!
On the walls in the main restaurant are pictures taken by guests in the park over the last few years and lots of information on the park and the wildlife in it. The staff are all very polite, knowledgeable and friendly and the managers little son, Jai, is a real budding conservationist and tour guide - a real mine of information and a real personality.
This lodge is really excellent and so far removed from the stuffy formality of some of the more 'upmarket' lodges that one can stay in. Really recommended!

Room Tip: Stay Here!

I couldn't praise this lodge enough. Everything really was perfect, just as written by other reviewers. The staff are lovely - friendly, laid back, extremely knowledgeable of the surrounding area and wildlife. Jai the 9-year old boy is a star! We arrived quite late at night on the first evening but were still welcomed by everyone with open arms, and served an excellent meal that had been prepared just for the two of us. And the food really is excellent - honestly some of the best I've had in India. Love the homemade chutneys! The atmosphere really makes you feel like you are in them middle of the jungle, with open fire pits around the lodge, beers after the safaris in the woods, and even a resident flying squirrel who comes out exactly on time every night! The rooms are excellent - clean, hot water, comfortable - perfect.

Our morning safari was booked at the very last minute by Radhika in the Delhi office (thanks Radhika!) And it was wonderful. Vinod the guide was fun, and a very good tracker to boot. The afternoon safari was arranged by getting a last minute 'standby' ticket at the gate, which the staff arranged without any inconvenience to us at all. And yes we saw FOUR TIGERS and a LEOPARD. They were in the Mukki zone on our second safari in the afternoon. Very lucky indeed.

Getting there from Nagpur airport was a little longer than we expected. With the road conditions it's a solid 6 to 7 hours drive. Make sure you allow enough time! And we had a flat tire along the way, so allow for that too. And if you need to know, Reliance is the only mobile service provider that works in the park. Not that you want a phone when you're there anyway...!

Room Tip: From what we saw, they were all excellent.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kanha thanks to Dimple, Jai, Tarun, Varun and all the staff.
Everything about the place was truly exceptional - the rooms, food, staff, the journeys into the forest and the walks along the Banjar river in the buffer zone next to the hotel, and along a 1.6 Km trail. The river and numerous water bodies make the forests at Kanha really enchanting - Bandhavgarh has no such river!
We traveled by road from Raipur (as there are direct flt connections from Chennai)- takes 5 hours, the road is average. We left for Bandhavgarh - takes 6-7 hours - the road is good except for the first 25 km in Kanha and the last 10 km in Bandhavgarh. The views on this road are spectacular - hills, streams and bright yellow colourful mustard fields. From Bandhavgarh, we traveled by road to Jabalpur (4 1/2 hours) and by the Intercity express from Jabalpur to Bhopal (Sanchi / Bhimbetka) on comfortable A/C chair car seats (train departs Jabalpur at 4 and arrives Bhopal at 10 pm). Thanks to Travelkhana.com we got wonderful hot food delivered at our seats on the train at Itarsi at 8pm.

Room Tip: The Regal room is really nice, it is built around a tree with a separate balcony - King Gustav of Sw...

We stayed at KJL for two nights during third week of October.

Whole booking process was very smooth, with all queries/mail replied promptly by their Delhi office. I preferred to bank transfer the total tariff in advance, as they accept only cash at the resort.

The property as it name specify gives you feeling of staying inside a jungle. The area is covered with Sal and other trees.

We stayed in Room no 20, which quite spacious for us (2 adults + 2 child). It had separate sit-out area overlooking the Sal trees /Jungle.

The safari at Kanha was booked through them. We were accompanied by their in house naturalist Vinod to the safari’s. Vinod has excellent knowledge and he took great efforts to explain us about the Jungle / trees/ birds /animal species.

Although our tiger sighting was from a very far off distance, we thoroughly enjoyed the safari’s.

Coming to Food, we requested for simple vegetarian food and same was prepared as per our choice. We were more than happy with their service in this regard. The dining area is also nicely decorated.

We had a small jungle walk to the river nearby and it was quite a good experience for us.

The hosts are quite compassionate about their work and that reflects in their service.

We had a wonderful stay at KJL and would definitely recommend this property at Kanha.

Room Tip: Room 20 and Room 21 are very good, with good sit-out area overlooking the jungle inside the property...
