My wife and I stayed here a couple of months ago and couldn't have been happier with our choice in the Yudanaka area. There are a lot of relatively modern hotels in the downtown area but this B&B provides you with a taste of traditional Japan.

It is located a few minutes walk from Yudanaka Station which makes it an ideal choice purely for convenience. It is also only a few minutes away from the old traditional part of the town where there are plenty of resatuarants and some bars.

The owners of the property are extremely helpful and very friendly. Within 5 mins of arriving we had our luggage taken up to the room and were being offered a lift to the snow monkeys. The owners son drove us up to the entrance to the park which is about a 15 minute walk from where the monkeys can be seen.

I honestly can't fault this ryokan, it has some lovely onsens that can be used privately for couples and they can provide food although we ate out at one of the local restaurants.

Hope you book this place and enjoy it as much as we did.

We loved this onsen inn located close to the monkey park. We had a super large room with painted doors and carved wood. The owner said the room dates from the taisho period. The food was served in a private tatami room. It was delicious. The owner was so kind. He even gave our children books about the monkey park. Do not hesitate. Cons--baths may be too hot for some. Ask to use private bath.

Yudanaka Seifuso was a beautiful ryokan in a quiet area. English was not spoken but the owners went out of their way to help us. With the help of Google Translator we managed quite well. Our rooms were authentic traditional Japanese style and not having a bathroom and toilet in our rooms was not an issue. The onsen was a beautiful experience. We had a fantastic evening meal in a private area. The owner took time to show us which foods went with the correct sauces and even brought samples from his garden to show us what we were eating. Breakfast was equally as stunning. The owner took us in his private car to the start of the monkey park but drove us prior, through the old town to show us the sights. We were very grateful for their kindness and wonderful hospitality. We would highly recommend Yudanaka Seifuso. Australian family, Kaye, Ken, Oliver, Blair

We stayed in this hotel for one night during our 2 weeks honeymoon trip around Japan. It was one of the best hotels that we stayed during our trip. It was extremely clean, peaceful and the hotel Hosts made us feel super welcome. This is a beautiful hot spring ryokan that left a beautiful long-lasting impression on us. Both dinner and breakfast were extremely well presented and delicious, served in our own private room. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Have dinner and breakfast at the hotel for traditional Japanese experience.

We stayed in Yudanaka Seifuso for the weekend and we were looking for a unique onsen + ryokan experience and that's exactly what we've got. Our room was awesome, comfortable and the fact that it didn't have a bathroom didn't bother us at all as there are 3 onsens with showers and numerous shower room across the hotel. The staff were nice even though they spoke little English, we were still able to get everything we needed. This is one of those hotels I'll remember for ever and will hopefully get to visit sometime again~
