15 people from my quilt guild stayed at the Lazy M for our annual retreat, October 2014. It was outstanding. Three of us shared a room with three twins, with the communal bathroom quite close. The food was tasty, varied, and fresh, and well cooked. The lodge was very very clean and tasteful. We enjoyed a sun room close to the dining room for before and after brunch relaxing. We elected to have brunch and dinner for the days we were there, in other words, Friday night dinner to Sunday brunch. Three meals was also a possibility. Tea and coffee were available all day. The hosts, Randy and Marcel, were more than pleasant and helpful, and available all the time.
We did our sewing in the converted barn, with was spacious and well appointed, with many electrical outlets (only one ironing board though). The wi fi was fairly reliable. It's available in the main building, but not in the barn. The large dog Rusty was quiet and friendly, and walked alongside us when we headed for the barn. The barn cats were also roaming free on the property, a nice added touch.
The lodge is on a small fly fishing river. It also has a "rock labyrinth" and benches on a bridge across the stream.
Our room came equipped with a standing fan but we managed with an open window, didn't use the fan. It was an unseasonably warm October....15 people from my quilt guild stayed at the Lazy M for our annual retreat, October 2014. It was outstanding. The lodge is somewhat in the middle of nowhere, which is lovely if you enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, and especially if you have something specific to do like quilting.
A new quilt store has opened in Caroline, and we had a field trip to the quilt store on Saturday morning.More
