This is a very small ( 4 room) hotel all rooms upstairs . Clean and modern. Located a short walk from the beach no views. Quite and restful, if you are seeking more night life go to Coronado a few miles down the road this place is for those who want seclusion. Limited menu but excellent food and reasonable prices. Reasonably priced beer and other drinks. If you want time to read or write a book this is the place. All the staff is warm and friendly they all (3) speak excellent English . Not easy to find but once you have been there no problems. Take a taxi to Coronado for the day about $10 each way . and then kick back in the evening have a few drinks and enjoy the quite.

Room Tip: All seemed to be good

Stayed here for one night in December 2013. Great place, well- manicured grounds, ample parking, LARGE rooms with 2 queen beds, large bath room and shower, hot water, coffee pot in the room, clean, comfortable, great food, cold beer, Stacy, the manager, was wonderful - pleasant, friendly. Short walk to a nice beach. We will return here to stay.. Very reasonably priced.

There were 4 of us on our way to Lake Gatun for a day of fishing and our first choice turned out not only to be closed but for sale. I said that I had seen the Manglar Lodge on Trip Advisor, let’s go see if they have a couple of rooms. Were we ever lucky that our first choice was closed because the Manglar Lodge was more than we could have ever wished for. First, before anything else, Stacy, the Manager, Bartender, Waitress, and superb Hostess was the icing on the cake. Stacy is the epitome of awesome customer service, she is without out a doubt better than anyone else that I have run across in Panama and if I really think about it, in all the places I have ever stayed and at my age, I have stayed in hundreds. Next, the rooms are great, comfortable beds, wonderful linens, 2 large soft bath towels and a companion hand towel per bed, large flat screen, GOOD in room coffee, A/C, hot water that was immediately available, large bathrooms, fully tiled, extra-large shower with a rainfall shower head, very good water pressure, hair dryer, nice toiletries and I'm sure more that I am forgetting. There is a bar restaurant on the first floor with reasonable prices, excellent potatoes (no rice!) on the well thought out menu, talented chef, not just a cook, good bar prices and of course Stacy’s superb service to make your drinks and meal memorable. The grounds are manicured, clean, nicely landscaped, lots of loungers and chairs, plus 2 outdoor showers to use after coming back from the very accessible beach that is less than a 5minute walk. Overall the Manglar Lodge is exceptionable maintained. If you are anywhere in the overall Coronado area, Manglar Lodge is THE place to stay. The Secret to getting there is to look for Carlito’s on the right on the Pan-American Highway after the exit to San Carlos and the street to get to Manglar is across the highway. Turn into Carlito’s then drive across the highway and go to the end of the street, turn left and go to the end and Manglar is on the left.

Room Tip: They are all good!

Spacious & Clean - well priced hotel - Good Wi-Fi and pleasant staff.
A little difficult to find as a tourist - even more so at night- no signage off the main highway - you need to know of landmarks such as Carlito's Pizza - worth the effort. Highly recommend.

We stayed in the Manglar Lodge two nights. The room was great and so was the food. Ivan was very helpful, answering many questions we had about the area, shopping and how to get around. We were using public transportation to get a feel for the country, Ivan was very helpful in this area.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room is lovely and the AC very much appreciated. Being so close from the beach is great asset for a quick swim since there is no swimming pool (not really necessary). The food is really good but we think some meals could be les expensive.

We had a bathroom issue with the water dropping from the tap, but they fixed it right after we mentioned it.

We definitely recommend this place.

Great lodge at the end of the road. We spent time on the beach playing in the waves and watching the surfers. Current is pretty strong so beware. Beach has varying sizes of volcanic rock so it can be tricky getting to the ocean as you must walk through rocks. Breakfast was cooked to order and very good. Rooms have own balcony which was pleasant. Great accommodations. Would stay here again.
