We had a really enjoyable five nights at the Kinta Hotel in January 2010. The Kanazawa family and staff were very hospitable and welcoming. Booking was very easy, as Mr Kanazawa, the owner, speaks excellent English. A few email enquires via the hotel website and one phone call and everything was organised. We were not disappointed on arrival either, the service was personal but efficient.
This hotel has all the amenities and more that we want in a hotel for a skiing holiday. We stayed in the DLX tower suite. It was a spacious Japanese/western style room with ensuite bathroom and had loads of cupboard space. We opted for half board which was a wise choice as the meals were sensational!
The hotel is architecturally interesting and lots of art works adorn the walls. Make sure you take advantage of the tower’s balcony onsen. It’s not natural but very relaxing all the same and you can watch the night skiing!
Kinta is reasonably located with only a short 3-5 min walk to the ski lifts.
