The exterior of the pub, seems more inviting that the staff inside. We had arrived to find a young girl behind the bar, who was more Interested in the gentleman at the opposite end. Nobody to take us to a table or be that first warming face. We had looked at the menu, which starters did not compliment the main courses. However the goats cheese starter was the best thing about the visit. Not being checked on by a waiting on staff to see if everything was ok with meals. The staff could do with some customer service training in manners.
The same lady stood behind the bar shouted across the room to a gentleman to see if his meal was ok. I am sure it was a huge effort to walk around the out dated bar to be oh I don't know friendly.
I would not recommend this place to anybody, lights flickering on and off every time a door closed and the out dates furniture do not do the one of the oldest house locally any justice. It most certainly does not fit in any period history style.
