Warm, welcoming and unpretentious atmosphere here with excellent food and accommodation, well kept local real ales too. There is a very comfortable lounge bar and restaurant for diners but also a proper public bar which is sadly missing from some establishments these days. All staff are friendly and laid back but efficient and motivated, being led by a manager who knows what he’s about. Most importantly, this place has retained it’s status as the village pub catering for local people and visitors alike, and doing it well.

We chanced upon the Grapes Hotel whilst on a tour of North Wales. We were met with a very warm welcome- superb rooms, with great views and lovely and clean, good comfy bed and well equipped bathroom. Food was very good, we ate dinner in the evening, after a lovely relax in the sunny gardens of the hotel, food was home cooked, very generous portions and reasonably priced. Breakfast was perfect too, we were very well catered for. I really recommend and we will definitely go again! Thanks!

I stayed a night with some friends as part of a mounting biking trip. The pub is very close to Antur Stiniog so a great location if you are aiming there. We arrived during a serious rain storm, covered in mud and were greeted with a warm welcome. After a quick shower, in newly refurbished rooms, we headed to the bar and enjoyed some local ales and a fine evening in the restaurant with good food and a great atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

We have been bereft without The Grapes for the past 6 months! The beer, food and management had gone downhill but we missed having this lovely traditional pub on our doorstep. Now it has a great manager Mat who really wants to make it a success and is happy to listen to any feedback and act on it in order to get this back to being the best pub in the region! The menu may be a little limited for some but after two weeks it is a work in progress and is being added to and improved every day.

The mushroom risotto starter is to die for, in fact the best risotto I have ever had! The pie is lovely, chicken with leeks wonderful and the 16oz T-bone steak fab! All home cooked and no pingers in sight. The staff are lovely and friendly and the locals as nice as ever. Don't hesitate .....do visit!

Dear FlowersNWales,

Thank you for taking the time to right such a lovely review. Our aim now is to keep working hard and to maintain standards throughout. As you say, it is early days yet and we are learning day by day.

The team and I are fully committed and hope to go from strength to strength. Hopefully when the sun decides to shine again, you will join us for a BBQ in the beer garden.

Kindest regards

This is our local which has been closed for 6 months, but now thankfully is now open again.

Under the previous land lord, the whole place had gone downhill - food was dire and the beer always off, but I'm very pleased to say THE GRAPES IS BACK!!

Its early days, but the beer is as good as it used to be and all the food we've had (both mine and what I've tasted and heard from others) is well on the way to earning the Grapes the reputation it used to have.

Whats even more encouraging is that the new team genuinely want to make this pub great again and are certainly off on the right foot by listening to feedback.

Good food, good beer, nice staff... and nice locals !! ;-)
