the resort features wood but they seem not to care about it. wood needs special care including regular dusting but the resort doesn't even do that. the public areas need cleaning including their public toilets. some staff are stinking of cigarettes as well. the only saving grace of this place is the rain forest but their guides fall short in providing adequate information before and during tours. it is really irritating that the staff use the excuse of we have "vvip" guests ... goodness, all guests are supposed to be treated as vvip's. we were not really surprised as when the manager was pointed out, he didn't even bother smiling to guests, he didn't even bother checking the buffet spread or the kitchen. he just sat there and got himself served together with some of the supervisors. i am sure he hasn't bothered checking the conditions of the rooms - the filter of our aircon was so filthy, it had sounds and was leaking. housekeeping had to be told several times before they actually did something. i hope they improve and make themselves up to the standard of the rainforest which is perfect. btw, there is nothing to do at night so, better pack some books to read. wifi is good in the restaurant but they "chase" you out by closing the lights.

Room Tip: better check everything if it works before unpacking.

We booked a 3d/2N package with activites, meal included. The resort is actually right at the beginning of the Belum Rainforest area & easily reached by car.

The rooms were new, comfortable & clean. I was happy that the rooms are the same as what I saw on their website.

On our 1st night, we were taken for a night walk. If you ask me, I don't know wht's the purpose of it as we can hardly see where we are going (walking with torch lights across various steepness of land)! The guides pointed out to some trees & it's special functions, again only with torch lights, I am not able to clearly see nor be able to identify the tree on daylight. Night walks are supposed to observe elements that come alive at night, i.e some nocturnal animals, or listening to the insects, etc. We, as a family, go for hiking & camping trips on regular basis. Hence, we felt tht this night walk defeated it's purpose.

The next day, we had a full day of activities. We were taken to the places of interest via speed boat. A little hiking/walking is then required to reach the final point. The guides were friendly & accommodating.

Food in the resort is very basic. Expect 2-3 star maximum. No alcohol sold in restaurant but there's a bar by the lobby. Very nice decor & overlooking the dam. It does gets a bit boring in the evenings as nothing much can be done. 2 nights stay is more than sufficient.

Overall, a pleasant & comfortable stay. Excellent as an introduction to beautiful Malaysian Rainforest.

stayed there for a few days attending a meeting. the rooms are decent and clean but housekeeping needs to standardize the amenities in the rooms - some rooms were given items and some rooms were not provided any (mainly bathroom amenities). i appreciate the fact that they encourage guests not to watch tv but there should be more activities at night aside from the night safari, the bar and the restaurant. the place is still relatively new so it would be more interesting to go back when they have more things in place and the vegetation more mature. food selection was good, considering it is far from cities. staff were very accommodating as well. it has a lot of potentials.

We stop there on the way back to JB from KB. Its a 4 hour drive of uphill and downhill with lots of dangerous curve. The room that we stayed are deluxe room with extra 1 bed (request) The room are gorgeous and the view of the lake is stunning. We didn't do any activities as I came with my elderly parent but they really enjoy the scenery there. All in all money worth spending.

Getting to Belum Rainforest resort at night is no easy task, that's what happen to us.

We arrived around 8.30pm after a 7 hours drive (due to 2 hours traffic jam at certain stretch of road) from KT to here going through
up and down hills road.

Upon arrived at reception lobby, the front desk told us where is our actual room is by showing a tiny map.

when we drive up to search for our rooms, nowhere to be found because since it's dark and it's our first time visit.
we ended up at their staff quarters area, where another foreigner staff with a buggy car named "shazzan or shazzad" (cant recall his actual name)
helped us to find where is our room and provide us a parking spot next to the restaurant, from here he escorted us to our rooms and help with our
luggages, i tipped him well for his help.

we booked 2 deluxe rooms, one with king size bed and the other with 2 single beds. we added extra beds too.
the whole rooms are very comfortable with their ambient design based from nature feel.
the bathroom equipped with basic amenities and rain shower system.

the wardrobe doors are accessible from inside bathroom and the bedroom itself, means the wardrobe door cannot be locked.
so privacy is an issue here if you stay together with different people.

the given blanket for the extra bed is like a piece of thin cloth, comes at night, it's very cold in the room and when raining
it's even colder like you are living in ice box. i assume the temperature falls to 15 to 16 celsius.

WIFI is only available at restaurant or the lobby. there is no TV in the room, and no swimming pool.

activities available within the resort such as trekking, temengor walk and canoeing etc. but the drawback is the price per person which
is overcharged. imagine a group of 8 peoples will cost up to 1k easily if participate in one of the activities.

there is a herbal garden behind the rooms where you can walk around. scenery of the lake around the hotel can be found
at the tor tambra restaurant bar.

food served at restaurant are just average nothing fancy at all.

there is a new development of a block consists villa, rooms and swimming pool which is due to be completed this mid or end of the year.

Room Tip: Request for a thick blanket if you getting an extra bed. Stay at ixora block.
