“Beautiful waterfalls”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

We had an opportunity to go by ourselves with no other tourists around. This was probably one of the highlights of our trip to experience. Just amazing to view nature's beauty in Costa Rica. We had a driver to get there, but most people take tours. You can probably get away with driving by yourself if you rent a car, but slightly challenging to find it. Most people in the area know how to get there and you can ask the gate keeper after you pay him how to get to it. One warning, though. The roads can be super muddy after a rainfall, so be careful if you drive you're own car.

“A great stop when going to the Atlantic Coast”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

The falls are hidden and not well marked so do ride slowly to see the sign. The path is not the easiest so better have a Suv/4x4. There is a small parking fee.

The falls are a great picnic area, there is even a food stand. The place provides a lot of shade, has a small beach and the water is really cool. There are both tourist and local people enjoying the cool so do not expect peace & quite, more a picnic like attraction

Great with kids.

“Beautiful waterfall off main highway”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

I've have been to this waterfall on 2 separate trips to Costa Rica. The water is cool, clean and refreshing, with a sandy beach to sit on, greenery all around and a ledge underneath the waterfall to sit on and feel the powerful water pound down - exactly what I imagined a tropical waterfall visit to be like :) The only cautions I have are: it is difficult for older people to get down the steep but short trail to the waterfall. I've been with a couple of people over 70 who are in decent shape, and they made it down, but it was a challenge. Also, I've been told by my Costa Rican friends that you don't want to be caught there after dark.

Stoning view of the waterfall, delicious fresh water in a place so hot like Guanacaste, relaxing sounds of nature...I love this place. Few people visit it so you can really enjoy it.

“Thanks Trip Advisors!”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

Found this place by doing my research on Tripadvisor. We had a driver that day and he had to ask for directions to get us there. The hill down to the waterfall was rocky but my 8 and 2 yr old handles it well. It is a 5 min trek. There are shades and the locals are hanging out and swimming. Tiny fish swam around us while we took a refreshing dip on a hot summer day! Perfect.
