Property in desperate need of some care. Old, tatty half dead pot plants outside the rooms don't make for a good welcome. Huge step up to room from driveway. Room very basic, NO HAIRDRYER, top of TV cupboard dusty, I couldn't say the room was spotlessly clean. 1 of the beds had comfortable mattress the other soft and saggy. Nice toiletries, shower fine. However it is conveniently situated, Sydney Airport only about 20 minutes away and Cronulla Beach with many restaurants about 15 minutes away by car. Huge Miranda Fair shopping centre about 10 minutes away. I'd probably stay there again because of location of absence of much else in the area.

We stayed 2 nights in an executive room. We arrived approx 1am after a very delayed flight into Sydney and the owner was still up and waiting for us in the reception area. Basic clean and comfortable facilities. We had the end room in the row and no hot water in the shower on the first morning but no problems on the 2nd. Very quiet room with no traffic noise despite being located on the highway. Nice Adequate continental buffet breakfast provided in the room fee and cooked breakfast available in the restaurant or room service. Take away food providers and small shops, doctor and pharmacy all within short distance from entrance. Family run motel with friendly courteous service. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. Large pool and free BBQ facilities.

We stayed here for one night on 19-10-13. Judging by the other reviews, we were very unlucky! I can put up with the '70's decor but the room was dirty. Under the bed was dirty, definitely had not been vacuumed in ages. Biscuit wrapper and Durex wrapper under bed. Hair on the bathroom floor. Window sill dirty. No screen in bathroom window. Bath tub in poor repair, paint cracking from tub. Dirty dishes in cupboard. We paid $160 and it was a rip off. Room next door had a big dog with them in the room. Only good thing to say was there was a decent TV in the room, the bed was comfortable (I dare not look too close under the sheets) and we only stayed 1 night. My advise would be to try somewhere else.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room before you give money.

Very friendly staff with basic amenities. Located right on the Princes Highway. Not many places will accommodate a family of five but this does the job. Internet capabilities were handy and the kids didn't even miss Foxtel, free to air was sufficient for us as they were exhausted! Close to restaurants and takeaway and a shopping centre. We stayed 3 nights and used the laundry and continental breakfast. The kids had basically nothing to do but we were out all day anyway. We needed a place to lay our heads each night after a full on day doing the tourist thing and this did the trick. Very reasonable rates. If you are chasing simple but good accommodation for your family to use as a base in Sydney, I would highly recommend the Abcot.

Room Tip: Internet can be finicky the further down the back you get so if internet is vital, ask for a room cl...

The staff are more then accommodating and lovely to deal with. The room was clean and fresh with the buffet continental breakfast the next day more then enough to please the hungry hubby. We stayed one night and found at 2am the room was lit up with the break lights of a car. Perhaps thick block out curtains are needed since I suddenly had the feeling I needed to drop, roll and run to the nearest bunker. Other wise the room was fine.
We took our toddler who had no problem sleeping. You can hire a cot for $5 to which we took advantage of as it also doubles up as a way to contain said child while you are busy packing the car.
Its a nice simple place to rest your tired head.

Stayed here while we had business in Hurstville. We had one of the last rooms with bath. Room was clean and comfortable with quite new furniture and soft furnishings. Bed was a queen and comfortable.
We took up the offer of 'liking' the property on Facebook for a free breakfast. A good cold breakfast option.
The staff were friendly and efficent and gave helpful directions around the area.
A good choice for accommodation in the Shire area.

Room Tip: The smaller rooms at the front are close to the highway. We were booked at the back of the hotel ...

The best thing about this motel is its location and tariff, the worst is it's décor and cleanliness. Other motels and hotels in the district are all very upmarket and expensive so $120 per night including a continental breakfast is great value.
The only problem is that there has been very little work done on the interior since the place was built. The cabinet on the TV wouldn't close, there was dirt behind the sliding door to the bathroom which was off it's rollers and the bed wasn't very comfortable with a big dip in the middle.
Out in the car park there is a giant lemon scented gum inhabited by a tribe of very noisy Lorikeets. Now I love out native birds especially parrots, but this lot love tearing the flowers and bits of branches out of the tree and dropping them all over the cars. This combined with an overnight heavy dew allowed the crap to stick. The management should provide an area where you can at least hose this rubbish off.
I think that I would stay here again but I would take the time to have a chat with the boss about some of these issues.
The Continental breakfast is served in the dining room but on the Sunday morning we were there I was going to upgrade to a full hot breakfast but no one appeared until we were leaving.
