“Nice place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 January 2013

+ Amazing location, in the middle of the mountains.
+ Great Onsen inside the hotel, 3 private bath and a public one with great views.
+ Big room
+ Good service (We appreciated the check in near the fire place with hot tea)
+ Good breakfast
+ Free ramen available during 1 hour, late in the evening.
+ Ice bar during winter time, so cold but nice experience, especially with a glass of Wild Chocolate or hot wine.

We had diner at the French restaurant, on the whole, everything was good, but barely warm.

- The access, if you dont have a car, there is 1 free shuttle bus to JR Asahikawa Sta. but the departure time is not very convenient (it leaves the hotel at 10am), and 3 regular buses per day.
- Not many double rooms so you may have to sleep in a twin room.
- Loud music in the corridors, really annoying from the room

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Daisetsu Mont, if you`re lucky with the weather, you will have a fantactic...

The best service that We've ever experienced. We booked the hotel from japanican.com. In our deal, The hotel offered 3 meals, French style dinner which was very good taste, Ramen at night and Breakfast Buffet. All the food are great. The room is not too small. The hotel staffs were very polite and helpful. We were very impressed.

There are public bus 3 times a day, Asahikawa station-Asahikawa airport-Asahidake Onsen. It was hard for us to walk with big baggage from a stop near hotel to the hotel as the rood was slippery as the snow/melting was melting. The hotel also offered shuttle bus service to and from Asahikawa Station whic we think it's better way.

We stayed here at the end of a round-Hokkaido trip. It was more expensive than most other places we stayed, but there's not a lot of choice in this small village. Asahidake is a very special place. For adventurous skiers and borders who don't mind the cold and potentially wild weather, it is certainly the best snow you'll find anywhere. The gondola is fast and efficient too. La Vista is a good place to stay if you don't mind paying a little more than is usually charged in Hokkaido for those who want a little luxury and a nice onsen experience. It's Euro-Japanese in style, and I guess it's pitched at well to do couples and pricey group tours. The rooms, the food and the service are all excellent. Having said that, they did serve whale as one of our courses at a evening meal. Not such a nice thing to offer, particularly since it was just the blubber... There is a good public bus service to the village from Asahikawa, so I suggest leaving the car behind. While they keep the road cleared, you're likely to encounter huge amounts of snow that could make driving treacherous... I also checked out the very nice wooden youth hostel across the road and had a chat with the duty manager who was lovely, I also spoke to a Swede staying there. It looks very nice, with a well thought out design. It's very clean, with reportedly great food, and a nice onsen. If I went to Asahidake again, I'd stay there so I can save my yen for more skiing.
