“Central cosy hotel with great service.”
Reviewed 8 March 2014 via mobile

My husband and I recently had 8 nights in a top floor mountain view room and had an excellent time. The room was very roomy, quiet and very comfortable. There is even an Australian tv channel so us Aussies can keep up with the news from home!
The hotel is very centrally located to Happoone and the shuttle buses to all other resorts. The staff are brilliant and provide excellent service.
The only negatives are the limited wifi and the restaurant has a limited menu (although quality is good).
Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Hakuba is suffering from a complete lack of infrastructure investment in the past decade. From the lift system to the hotels, nothing has been touched since 1997 it seems.
The hotel is basic but comfortable, providing 3/4 star amenities with 6 star service.
The quality of the service is second to none, and the English spoken and local knowledge provided by the Japanese staff was amazing.

Just don't expect European/ American 4/5 star rooms.

Great stay, would recommend!

We were located on top floor, peaceful and quiet. The staff was 200% helpful they knew the area, they helped us get to where we wanted, Suggested places to eat and go even went out of the way to reserve us seats. The staff had all the answers we needed and help us plan our days. The rooms were just right not small normal Japanese but nice normal western room. we had buffet breakfast. It had good facilties vending machine, laundry room, there own Onsen female and Males in separate onsens and rooms. Buses to most major Ski resorts stop at the front if they don''t then the Info center is only 3 minutes walk from the front door. The hotel is 5-10 minute walk from the nearest Happo one lift, the gondola is about 15 - 20 minutes walk.

its a must hotel if your looking for great service and facilities. highly recomended

Room Tip: get rooms on the top Floor if possible.

Centrally located, the Hakuba Springs Hotel is just a short walk from Happo-One's Nakiyama lifts as well as the information centre, which has regular shuttle buses to the other Hakuba ski fields. There are also a plethora of bars and restaurants, just a short stroll away. The rooms and beds were comfortable and the LCD was enormous. The Onsen was the perfect way to soak the weary bones after long days on the slopes. Reception staff were friendly and went above and beyond in helping us organise snow monkey tours and other various day trips. Extremely pleased we made the decision to stay here and will definitely be returning here again.

We had a week in this hotel in February It is well located, a short walk to the Nakiyama slopes or to the information centre where you can catch a free bus to the other nearby slopes. Rooms modern and quite large by Japanese standards. Good bathroom amenities, yukata and slippers supplied for the very nice onsen. Comfortable beds. The laundry was a bonus for keeping on top of well used ski gear. Breakfast buffet was a good mix of Western and Japanese. Staff were very helpful and friendly and we appreciated the pick up from Hakuba station. At first our stay was quite peaceful albeit it punctuated at night by noisy people leaving the bar beside the hotel and other noisy people passing by the hotel but generally this ended by about 12.30am as the bars close at midnight. But then the peace was shattered by the arrival of a large group of noisy young snowboarders. They swore and shouted around the place, oblivious to the fact that other guests did not appreciate the noise and bad language. They treated the whole place as though it was their own personal space, even down to filling up the lobby with their boards and other gear and even doing repairs on their boards there. Of course at night they went out partying and came back shouting and swearing, waking up the other guests. We were told they come every year and we believe there are other such groups booked into the hotel by the same tour group. That's all very fine but these kinds of groups will drive out the couples/families/older guests. Despite loving the location, good restaurants nearby and the previously mentioned features, we won't return. Too noisy and we don't want to be woken every night by noisy and/or drunk guests returning to their rooms. A pity for us as generally it ticked all the boxes for us.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back away from the bar and the plaza in front.

We stayed here in mid January for a week on the top floor in a junior suite (3 adults) and found the hotel to be comfortable and quiet, nestled in the middle of Happo village, a 5 min walk from the information centre. The room was comfortable, clean and had a great view of the surrounding mountains although the bathroom was small (and oddly up a huge step - it seemed to be a pre-fabricated room?) and the WiFi exceptionally slow (tip: the laptops in the foyer are hooked up to much faster internet so if you get frustrated, head down there!). Having it's own on site onsen was a pleasure I indulged in every day after skiing and having our own ski lockers and dry room meant that our gear was stored and safe for the following day. The staff really make this place great. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, always ready with the information we needed - it made everything easy. The hotel is relatively close to the gondola compared to other accomodation we have stayed in before but with all your gear it becomes quite a trek so I recommend the shorter walk to the info centre where you can get a bus (sounds lazy, I know, but after a couple of days on the slopes walking up the hill with skis and boots it starts to burn!). Breakfast was good with standard items rotated throughout our stay (pastries, toast, fruit, bacon, eggs, sausages + Japanese style breakast). Free book and dvd rentals from the front desk meant that our off days were very relaxing. All in all a very pleasant stay in Hakuba.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view! These are only on one side of the hotel and make waking up every day a plea...

Very nice hotel in the heart of Hakuba. Close to the Happo Info centre where all the buses depart from to the various skifields. We found it too far from the Happo Gondola, not a pleasant walk. The staff are very tentative to your needs and love to help, very friendly. Rooms are comfortable and quiet but we found having to virtually climb into the bathroom a right pain in the you know where, especially after a hard days skiing. Still this is a nice place to stay and I would recommend it.
