When we happened upon this tiny restaurant, we were tired and hungry and willing to take a chance. What an unexpected delight was in wait for us. The husband and wife team cheerfully guided us through the Japanese menu and helped us select our meals. We sat at the counter and watched our chef cut our beef and prepare our vegetables (fresh from his garden) and grill them right in front of us! Tender slices of beef prepared to order with dipping sauces, tasty vegetables, a delicious homemade soup, and, of course, rice--very reasonably priced. We seemed to be their first customers of the day, and they treated us like guests in their home. This will be my go-to spot on my spring trip to Yugawara each year.
